For around 15-16$ an item on their menu, the portions are decent and the amount of vegetables served is quite generous. I wish there would be a few more types of vegetables though but that's just my own preference. The food itself was decent. It had good flavours but nothing amazing at the same time. The Pho especially had a great clear and flavourful soup but I wasn't a big fan of how their noodles were all cut up into small strands. My least favourite dish was probably their peanut butter dumplings. It didn't have enough sauce which made a few bites quite flavourless which was not that pleasant. Plus, the dish was a bit watery which diluted down the little sauce even more. Even with all the little unpleasantries, it was still an overall decent meal and I enjoyed it.

Our planned restaurant was closed so we chanced upon Pho Moderne... and what a delight it was! The service was tip top and the food was simply scrumptious! The grilled chicken and beef were so tender and juicy and yet so perfectly and lightly encrusted with the soul-satisfying BBQ umami. The chef specials included giant deep fried noodle nests filled with seafood, as well as beef cubes sautéed to a tender perfection in a summer fresh lime sauce. Had no room left for dessert but if they are as authentic as the main courses are, they will be sure to satisfy the sweetest tooth.

Friendly staff, a bit of wait time since there’s only 1 person taking the order. The food looks nice and presentable but it’s to salty or maybe to much MSG. They don’t provide tea due to COVID but they offer each person free water bottle. We saw a old lady threw up after eating. Don’t know if she got sick from the food or before. Some people saw that and started to leave at the same time. I don’t think the owner was Vietnamese, we try speaking in Vietnamese but he didn’t understand. This place has potential. Just need better cook.

My family arrived when there were 4 others in the establishment. We made the seemingly mortal sin of asking for a hardcopy menu as we had the QR code pointed out to us repeatedly, something that irks me as it assumes many things about cellphones, plans and the like. When we got it we realized it was difficult to use without a magnifying glass.

Order was made with maybe 3 additional customers in the property. There were 5 of us but we did not order anything extremely unusual. The waiter seemed friendly enough and everything seemed good.

That was until more than thirty minutes had passed and we had not even received the wonton soup we had ordered as starters.

They turned up and after some time the food did begin coming to the table bit by bit.

Unfortunately it was so slow for some things we began wondering what was happening and eating what had arrived. In fact it was only just before my wife had told me she had had her fill that my dish arrived. The bizarre aspect to this is one of my daughters had the pork version of the dish and I had the beef yet apparently the beef one takes almost thirty minutes longer to prepare.

I know that is not the case as I overheard the waiter explaining to the kitchen staff that they had missed my order. It was reinforced by his showing them the order and explaining, "21 AND 22" before leaving the kitchen area.

Many people came in, ordered, ate and left. They may have had good service but we definitely did not and when we heard the excuse that it was because it was busy when we ordered that was the icing on the cake for me. To be repeatedly told the food is on its way when it apparently was not even cooked is ridiculous and to sit and watch others around you eat their meals while you have nothing makes for a very bad experience.

It is an experience we do not...

This used to be a great place for delicious pho, but I won't ever return there after the last two experiences.

First time I was deceived, I thought it would be an exception as everyone have bad days. I thought it would be a one-time thing. So I gave it another chance. I regret doing so.

Noodles were soggy and overcooked. I usually enjoy eating the noodles while slurping the stock. This time, it was so soggy and disgustingly cooked that I couldn't bare continuing to eat it.

The soup was not hot. It was mediocre. The meat couldn't even cook inside the broth so it stayed raw pink-red. Even hot tap water is hotter than that putrid joke of a soup. I couldn't stand it. At that moment, I realized I won't ever come again.

What is customer service? When my friend complained to the waiter about the soup being slightly hotter than room temperature, she took it personally and touched to see if we were lying or not. She then pointed that there was some steam coming out of the other clients' bowls. Yes, so? Does it change the fact that my soup is colder than the heart of a psychopath? She then grabs our bowls and spill broth barely missing my friend's clothes by a millimeter. Not to mention that we are pretty sure she not-so-subtly took pictures of us while we were eating because of my friend's dyed hair.

Anyways, this goes into my top #5 worst restaurant experiences. It is so bad that I took the time to write this review.

If you're looking to eat pho, go to literally any other pho places. Also, it's always better when it's Vietnamese and...

As a Pho Tonkinoise Vietnamiese soup consumer and creator, I can rate this restaurant as NO 2 in Montreal from other 20 restaurants that I have tried in the past 6 months.

Pho soup here is missing the ginger, cinnamon, star anise and cloves aroma, or not strong enough for me, the meat at any restaurant is not pre-cooked in the actual veggie broth and that gives it a BIG minus.

Also I have not seen any mushrooms in the veggie soup.

Over all I grade it as NO 2 in Montreal, if you are a pho soup high flavour consumer this is not the place, it’s a beginners place, but I recommend it.

Very good prices, good variety, I seldom go there.

You can find stuff that you cannot find in some other places.

I would go there every time in the future for all their products as they are very good.

Every time I go there I take the recommended special of the day, which is good all the time, winter and summer, especially the morning in the week-ends when the parking...
