Le Couteau is a wonderful place. It’s spacious, full of light and the coffee is wonderful. The cakes are pretty awesome too. Like many of the places I visited in Montréal, the focus is firmly on the coffee, with little else to distract you, although there is tea and hot chocolate for those of that persuasion.

The owners need to change up the furniture in the cafe; aside from the two proper tables, the rest of the cafe is unusable as the furniture are simply "decorative" pieces and not meant to sit on. Anyone who wants to converse with friends or get some work done will pass on this place and head to a functional cafe. That said, the people working there are friendly and I think the lowering of their prices compared to Couteau was noticeable by their clientele and appreciated as it more reflects the community here.
