La Matraca — Restaurant in Montreal

I had the misfortune of not realizing that every taco comes by default garnished with a HUGE quantity of onions and coriander as all garnishees are offered as "extras" in their menu. I asked for limes and coriander only as extras. Brilliantly my tacos came garnished with more onions than meat. Puzzled, I asked the waitress to please change the order because the enormous quantity of onions made it impossible to just put them aside. She told me it was my mistake and that I had to eat my dish as it was. I asked her to bring a new order. She did. In the end I was charged for the tacos I didn't eat! Plus you pay cash only and their ATM was out of cash, consequently, many of us (because we were a big group) had to go across the street to look for cash. I also didn't get my receipt, so NO TAXES to be declared. Besides, I was not the only one charged extra for food not consumed. THE FOOD is rather bad, the bread was old and had a really weird taste not to mention the meat. Make yourself a favor and go have some real and better Mexican food...

Food is not good and the service is terrible. We were 5 people for a late dinner. We each ordered a dish and an appetizer for the table.The menu had 2 choices of pitcher, the rickards red at 22$ and the mexican 2 equis at 24$.We order the mexican beer but the waitress serves us a pitcher of red. We wave back saying that we had ordered the other but she argued telling us that this is what was on the paper. So we accepted since we still enjoy red beer. Then when the food came she completly forgot one of our main courses, didnt know which out of the 3 salsas on the table was the hottest let alone what type of salsas they were, they were out of avocados and at the end of it all on our bill she charged us for the 24$ pitcher of the mexican beer.To be honest i have had way better mexican tacos elsewhere with wayyyy better service. I dont recommend this place to anyone. And its a shame because we brought 2 people from France to try it for the first time and even they were disappointed. Avoid this place...

Eat at your own risk! I ordered from this restaurant on December 6th, at 7:15. They were closing at 7:30, but still accepted my order on DoorDash. I ordered flautitas, that said that they were covered with cheese and cream, and an order of Tacos al pastor. I put in Spanish, please no cheese or cream in the special requests. When I received my order, the flautitas had cheese on the inside, and usually they have chicken on the inside. My Tacos al pastor had cheese in the middle, which I wouldn’t have known it had if it wasn’t for some of the cheese that was sticking out of the taco.
