A Truly Unbearable Experience at Crèmerie Dalla Rose
How dare you unleash such utterly delicious creations upon an unsuspecting public? I came, I saw, and I was promptly overwhelmed by the sheer audacity of your flavors.
My plum caramel ice cream was, and I say this with the deepest possible sigh, absolutely divine. It possessed that perfectly balanced sweetness, a subtle tang from the plum, and a caramel ribbon that was so unbelievably rich it ought to be illegal.
Seriously, who needs joy and satisfaction when you can be subjected to such unmitigated pleasure? I barely managed to suppress a groan of delight, which, frankly, was quite inconvenient.
And then there's my girlfriend, who, in her infinite wisdom, chose the dark chocolate. Not too sweet, she said. Not too sweet? It was a masterpiece of cocoa intensity, a velvety smooth dream that made me question every life choice that hadn't led me to that moment sooner. Her eyes practically rolled back in her head, a clear sign of the extreme discomfort caused by such an astonishingly good flavor.
Honestly, if you're looking for bland, forgettable ice cream, steer clear of Crèmerie Dalla Rose.
But if you're prepared to face a flavor profile so perfectly executed it might just ruin all other ice cream for you, then I suppose you must endure the torture. You've...
Read moreTomé el sundae como siempre. It was not what I would call a sundae, but whatever it was it was very good. Actually they were calling it "blueberry strudel sundae" and it was very much not a strudel either. It would be most accurately described as a blueberry cobbler topped with soft serve.
Beyond the label, it was a very pleasant dessert.
The ladies behind the counter give you the 'good cop/bad cop" routine. I find this funny, but I have solid mental health to begin with. Someone predisposed to crack might break down and confess to something they didn't do.
The terrace is very nice. They have flower boxes with vegetables like beetroot and Swiss chard, along with some nice flowers. Chamomile perhaps?
I did not take the ice cream sandwich because it looked a bit overboard but it's promising: they take very nice home made cookies and slapped two of these each side of an ice cream scoop. You pick the cookie and ice cream flavors. I'm surprised you're allowed to offer something this awesome in Montréal. Valérie Plante probably hasn't heard of it yet...
A girl on the terrace passed a judgemental comment about my eating a whole sundae and I did not care, did she...
Read moreMy partner and I visited their establishment on a lovely evening after a fantastic day out and about in Montreal in August 2025. My partner and I thought it was a great idea to try their ice cream or gelato for the first time. As it seems it was such a popular place to visit. I was super excited to try their product. The young man was not very welcoming. Customer service was a 1 out of 10. No salutations were given. I then proceeded to ask what their flavours were. As it is not indicated in front of each ice cream/gelato nor on the protective glass in front. He proceeded to point at the menu just above his head. They have non-traditional flavours(such as corn). I then asked which are gelatos and which are ice cream. His tone and response was off putting to say the least. It’s clearly indicated on their advertisement outside the building that they sell both. I had to ask what each flavours were. We still ordered 2 scoops with1 flavour each. To be honest, the one my partner had was very tasty. Mine, not as much. The cost was out the roof. Imagine, $25 dollars for 4 scoops of ice cream, unheard of. I will sincerely...
