Waited 30 minutes for one crepe. Owner was incredibly rude when i asked what was taking so long

edit:

There was no arrogance. My wife came in after 20 minutes and asked if her order was up next. The response was a very rude snap that they go in order and hers will arrive when it arrives. I went in 10 mintue later, and spoke directly to you, not one of your employees. I said, we've been waiting for 1 crepe for 30 minutes, whats going on? And you immediately started yelling at me. Eventually you started trying to apologize, sort of, and then corned me by the fridge and started yelling again.

My wife is celiac and, we've been several times and never experienced anything like this when you weren't on staff. I've worked in many restraunts from fine dining to breakfast, front and back of house. Had anyone spoken to a customer like you spoke to me today, whether at diner service in upscale wine bars or sunday brunch at a breakfast joint, they'd have been sent home or fired on the spot. It's really shocking to see an owner of all people be so aggressive to a customer in their own business.

If you think someone asking what is taking so long after 30 minutes is "arrogance" you frankly have no place in the business.

FYI: We make tapioca crepes at home all the time. They take about 5 minutes in the pan. If it's going to take 30 mintues and come with a side of getting yelled at then the value really isn't there.

If you regularly speak to customers like you did today... well, then I hope whatever opens next in your spot is also...

Edited to address the owner request:

Hi Luis,

Thanks for reaching out. Our first visit to Tapi Go! was wonderful, which is why we returned with high hopes. Unfortunately, our second experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating.

We ordered two trios with fries but were given only one trio with pão de queijo. When we pointed this out, the staff insisted that trios come with bread, despite us clearly ordering fries.

Despite giving an $8 tip upfront, the staff's attitude was shockingly unprofessional. They seemed irritated with us for simply asking for what we had ordered and paid for. This lack of basic customer service was extremely disappointing.

When the food finally arrived, it was dry and completely lacked the flavor we had enjoyed during our first visit. We were really looking forward to our meal, but it fell far short of our expectations.

We felt disrespected and let down. I hope this feedback helps you address these serious issues in service and consistency at Tapi...

I’ve walked passed Tapi Go a thousand times having no idea what it was, and I’m glad I finally stopped for lunch. According to their website, “The tapioca crepe as we know, is created using tapioca starch, originated from the cassava root”. I had the WE THE NORTH crepe which was delicious, and came with a generous portion of pulled beef, parmesan, cheddar, onion, peppers and sauce. The tapioca crêpe that wrapped it all was a perfect combination of being crispy, light and a slightly chewy. The staff was quite welcoming and helpful, for someone like me who had no idea what I was in for. They also have great Brazilian music while you eat. I’m looking forward to sampling the rest of their menu and I highly recommend that you give...

Tapi Go! For all your Brazilian food cravings. The little restaurant is situated 10 mins away by car from the Mont-Royal metro station or can be reached by bus #55 near the St-Laurent metro station. The place is cozy inside with a few seatings and they also have a terrace. I've had the pleasure of trying the Tapioca crepe, created by using tapioca starch. For someone who doesn't have much Brazilian knowledge, this reminded me of a giant taco or some sort of quesadilla but it's neither. It is actually better. I've tried the creamy chicken, the green mushi and my favorite We The North, filled with braised beef, cheddar, sauted onions and their secret sauce. Get yourself an acai bowl as well, try the Brazilian pop or the Nuts 4 u 😉

Obrigado !
