This was my worst restaurant experience ever. My partner and I have been to wine bars all over the country and international and we have never had worse service. Our server was not knowledgeable at all about their wine list and seemed disinterested in helping us choose a nice wine. We finally settled on a $90 bottle which was pretty good but not our usual preference. After this everything went downhill. We ordered our food and subsequently our server disappeared. She never returned to check if we liked our wine or to fill our water glasses. We finished our whole bottle of wine and we’re still waiting for our food. When we finally tracked down our server she told us the printer had run out of paper and some of the orders did not go through. She was in no way apologetic that we had waited so long and still had no food or that we had finished our wine without our meal. In a regular restaurant the food would arrive when we were halfway finished our bottle and we would be able to enjoy the pairing. Instead we were sat waiting with nothing to do. Finally we were ready to leave without our food but when my partner went to pay for the wine he was told that the food was just ready. We couldn’t properly enjoy it because we were so hungry and cranky from the experience. When we spend $90 on a bottle of wine and $20 on a small share plate we are accustomed to receiving outstanding service but there are five bars with more skilled servers. Our night was ruined and we left feeling as though we had been robbed. The restaurant did absolutely nothing to compensate for our poor experience. My advice is avoid this place at all costs. Don’t get...

From 5 to 7 they have oysters for 2.50$
When you first get in, you won’t really notice the ambiance, it’s packed with a bunch of little trinkets and knicks and knacks, which makes you feel like you’re in an old fishermen’s cabin / antique store. It’s definitely an interesting set up for a restaurant.
You really could spend a lot of time just looking around.
When you get in, you should ask them to take your coat to the coat check because you can’t really put it on the back of your chair since you’re sitting on stools.
The waitresses were really kind but the food came in waves, i had my salad maybe 5 minutes before one of us received their plate and 15 minutes before we received the oysters.
It’s casual but you need to plan for the food not being all there at the same time.
Once you start eating though, it’s really something!
The oysters are delicious, i don’t know where they get them, don’t be fooled by the carton boxes you see them taking the oysters out of behind the counter. They are really fresh AND they have a ton of meat in them, they may seem small but they are really thick and delicious!
At one point in the evening it started to smell like if someone lighted a cigarette in the restaurants and it smelled for a while just as we got our food. It smelled for like 10 minutes, which was kind of weird…
All in all it was a good...

Majestique is hands down my favorite spot on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, right in the heart of the vibrant Plateau Mont-Royal. This lively, always-buzzing restaurant strikes the perfect balance between casual charm and refined taste. From the moment you walk in, the eccentric yet meticulously curated décor draws you in — it’s an interior worth seeing in itself.
The staff are consistently friendly, upbeat, and efficient, creating an atmosphere that feels both relaxed and energetic. The highlight? Their oysters — fresh, briny, and impeccably shucked. Pair them with their rotating selection of natural wines, and you’ve got a memorable evening ahead. The menu is inventive and rooted in local flavors, often with a playful twist that reflects the restaurant’s fun-loving spirit.
During summer, the outdoor terrace adds even more magic to the experience. That said, reservations are highly recommended — this place fills up fast, especially on weekends.
Whether you’re going for a date night, catching up with friends, or just treating yourself, Majestique delivers a unique Montreal dining experience that’s equal parts style and substance. It’s a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the Plateau’s...
