What an incredible spot to stumble upon!
We were headed to a show at the Théâtre Fairmont, and needed some food — a flashing neon burger sent us a sign, so we crossed the street!
When we entered, the friendliest face greeted us, and the ambiance was amazing. Sparkling clean, with a big old-school diner bar and some tables lining the wall. Open kitchen, a beer cooler, and a TV with some sports.
We chatted with (it turns out) the owner, he made some recommendations (and minor modifications based on our dietary needs) and we were off.
A cooler stocked with Wills beer?! We had to add two beers to our order.
A few minutes later, we had piping hot fries (shoestring) and sweet potato fries, and wow…. These are the fries everyone tries to make, and fails. Perfectly salted, piping hot, crispy crunchy outside and perfectly fluffy on the inside.
And the burger… wow. We had the Impossible burger, but I NEED to go back for the smash burger. It was perfect — soft fresh bun, crispy and fresh veggies, a great house sauce, and a perfectly cooked burger.
We ended up talking life, beer, and everything else with the owner, and he was incredible. So kind and generous, it makes me wish only the best for his restaurant.
Food was quite seriously 10/10, I don’t remember ever having a better experience at a burger joint, and he cares SO much about serving good, quality food, asking peoples opinions and constantly improving, and making sure everyone was happy.
Next time I’m going to skip lunch and double...
Read moreWe stopped here for a quick bite to eat and I absolutely loved everything about our experience! The smash burger was the best I've ever had and the poutine was out of this world. We'd never had poutine before and we got a large to share with our group just in case we didn't like it. I can honestly say we wanted to lick the bowl clean. Rami, the owner, was very patient with us while our group of 5 decided what to eat. He was so nice and knowledgeable about the area as well. We'll definitely be back again for a bite to eat before we...
Read moreReally tasty smash-burger at a really great price.
Comparable to the one served at Doubles Late Night down the street, but for almost half the price.
I ordered a large poutine to accompany my burger. For one person it would be too big. Next time I will get the small size if I am by myself. They are not cheap on the gravy or cheese curds which was nice to see.
Nice owner/operator...
