Guillaume Bakery is a must-visit for anyone who loves traditional French baking. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked bread and the sleek yet cozy ambiance set the tone for a great experience. Their bread selection is outstanding, and I was blown away by their almond dessert, it was absolutely divine! Perfectly sweet, with a texture that melts in your mouth, it’s a treat worth savoring.
While the bakery doesn’t offer a full dining-in experience, and there’s only one chair available (not ideal for couples or groups), it’s still a great spot to pick up some incredible items to enjoy elsewhere. Parking can be tricky as it’s street-only with no private lot, so plan accordingly.
What makes Guillaume even more special is their thoughtful details. They have a shelf stocked with unique products like coffee, pasta, maple butter, and more. There’s also a fridge filled with cold drinks, Greek olives, and other goodies to complement your bakery haul.
Their inclusive and friendly atmosphere, especially welcoming to individuals with special needs, adds a wonderful touch. If you’re looking for high-quality baked goods, plus a little something extra, Guillaume Bakery won’t disappoint! 🌟

Read morePros: A lovely assortment of various breads and treats, many of them delicious! Nice interior, and it's cool to see the staff working on the products at other times. Most of the staff seem to be quite pleasant most of the time
Cons: A sometimes overwhelming variety with ingredients written in tiny fine print, making it stressful to choose what you want in busy times (though at least they print their ingredients) In the past, certain staff made me feel like I was lucky to be served by them, and buying from the store -- I prefer a more equal interaction. I think this has mostly been corrected however. They won't slice your bread. I think this is a fancy French-inspired thing that seems rather silly to me. I would buy more of their bread if they did. I never really get a chance to see the patisseries to the right of the cash, as there is generally much pressure to order far to the left, and patisseries are kind of hidden and...
Read moreI’m a regular customer at this café — I live in the neighborhood and often come here with my family for coffee and croissants. We’ve always enjoyed the atmosphere and the quality.
However, today I had a very disappointing experience with a staff member named Coralie. She didn’t listen to what I wanted to order and just made something without asking. She threw the change on the counter and walked away without even finishing the coffee properly — no napkin, no care. When I politely asked her to come back and complete the order, she replied, “Go to someone else,” and turned her back.
This kind of attitude is unacceptable, especially in a tourist-friendly area like this one. It does not reflect the usually kind and respectful service one expects in Montreal.
I sincerely hope the management will take this seriously and provide the necessary training or feedback to prevent this from...
