Jack Saloon Crescent — Restaurant in Montreal

Do you want to spend a nice evening with your friends? DON'T GO THERE. If I could give a zero star review I definitely would. We made a reservation for my friend's birthday, we wanted to have a nice dinner before going out to a club. When we arrived at the restaurant, it took a while for someone to greet us. The place was almost completely empty , except for a table indoors and about twenty people on the terrasse. The reservation was for 9 pm. They had a semi professional singer singing super high pitched and high energy songs and the volume was so loud that we couldn't even have a conversation. We ordered drinks and food at the same time because we were starving. 15 minutes later , still , no drinks nor food. Given the fact that we were only three people, and that the restaurant was almost empty, this made no sense to us. After 15 minutes I asked the waitress where were our drinks. She went to the bar to ask them. While waiting for our drinks we received our appetizers, about twenty minutes after ordering. The guy who served us didn't even know what appetizer was what. The appetizers were good, and sadly that's the only positive aspect of the evening. We then received our drinks, mine didn't come with a straw and wasn't even mixed properly. I ordered the jack mule, the ginger beer sat at the bottom of and the top part was strictly vodka, which wasn't enjoyable. My drink was 17$ and definitely not worth it. The worst part of the evening was by far the main meal, which took 45 min to arrive. My friend ordered a 40$ plate of steak. The steak was RAW and cold in the middle. It was sent back and they made it warmer but it was definitely not medium rare, more rare. The waitress didn't even ask my friend what sides she wanted. I ordered the steak tartare and bone marrow plate. I had only 2 tiny croutons with my tartare. The tartare wasn't even seasoned. And the bone marrow was completely COLD and solidified. My friend whose birthday we were celebrating ordered a burger. The burger was overcooked, not even juicy, and the bread was stale. Absolutely unacceptable for such expensive plates. I told the guy who served us that my bone marrow was cold. He was super confused, he didn't know what bone marrow was ( I spoke to him in French as he was French spoken) and he asked me if I was talking about my tartare. He went to the kitchen and never came back. I asked our waitress to do something about the very bad quality of our expensive meals. She said that she would ask her manager. Her manager came to see us ten minutes later. I explain the situation to her. She went to the kitchen and probably asked her boss as well. About 10 minutes later she came back to tell us that we'd be charged only for the appetizers and the drinks, which I appreciated. I asked for the bill at the same time because we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, given the super loud music. Who wants to eat dinner while having their ear drums near explosion and not even being able to hear your friends? It took an extra 15 min to get the bill, which was 130$ without the tip. For 2 appetizers and 3 drinks. The club we went to after had their music at a lower volume, can you imagine that ? I've heard that the one in brossard is really nice. Well this one was absolutely HORRIBLE. The owner should understand that people go there to EAT, and nobody likes to eat with such loud music. 3 men were seated next to us and decided to leave because of that. He should also do something about the kitchen not even able to cook their super expensive meals properly. No wonder this...

Went to this restaurant for a friends birthday. The food was extremely overpriced for what it was. 30$ for a small plate of Mac and cheese. The ribs were very mediocre for the price. The waitress seemed like she was in a hurry all the time even thought he restaurant was empty while we were there. She brought us the wrong drinks multiple times and blamed it on us. When the bills came she also charged us for the wrong things and over charged some of my friends. When they confronted her she said she couldn’t refund and offered us a drink or dessert even though we were already getting up to leave. I had to ask 4 times for a takeaway box and each time no one brought me one. I was also very surprised that a country style Restaurant would start playing dj house music with strobe lights. The point of having this type of restaurant is to keep that country atmosphere. We were all highly disappointed. Would not return or suggest to anyone. The owner should reevaluate his staff they were slow and unprofessional! Very nice...

6 of us were seated in the farthest corner directly under a speaker. The music got progressively louder, reaching over 97dB. Our server could not hear us, we asked to move or turn it down slightly. Nothing could be done. We moved down one table, very slightly less loud. 1.5hrs for food from order placement after complaining to multiple staff while the managers walked around and schmoozed with multiple customers instead of expediting in the kitchen dropping ticket times. Appreciate the round of shots, but that doesn't excuse the ticket times. Food ranged from average to above average. Drinks were very good, great flavor and consistency. Waiter was good, knew what celiac was and helped navigate the menu. Never once saw or spoke to the manager, our food just magically appeared after asking for one.
