We've only ordered from this place twice. The first time was incredible. The second time has truly been a disaster. I am beyond disappointed. We called for pick up this evening. We were told to come in 45 minutes. They even took my PHONE NUMBER. We drive over to pick it up only to be told that it'll be ANOTHER 30 minutes. I would never have ordered had I known that because it completely messes up my schedule for this evening and my schedule for tomorrow. But wait, it gets better. I come back in 30 minutes only for them to say it'll be another 5 minutes. I ended up waiting an extra 21 minutes on top of that. I'm seriously disgusted. I wish their staff would've been HONEST from the beginning so i could make the choice on whether I wanted to go through with this.
I waited a total of 101 minutes almost 2 HOURS when we were told 45 minutes. I don't order out often and I'm really disappointed in this experience. I hope the manager and owner see this to coach their employees on this matter. They ended up giving me a $25 gift card to 'compensate me for this. I feel insulted. After that mess they should've refunded my meal. That would've been better customer service. Beyond disappointed. I really regret deciding to spoil myself tonight and...
Read moreVery disappointed with Yakimono tonight. I arrived with my parents, wife, and children for a 5:30 PM reservation. When we got there, the area appeared to be closed off due to construction, which was confusing since I had a confirmed reservation. We attempted to navigate around the construction zone, and in the process, my 75-year-old father slipped and fell. Two young staff members came out and informed us that the only area open was the terrace — but the terrace was literally in the middle of the construction zone. I mentioned we had a reservation, and one of them said, “Yes, the terrace is open.” Really? It didn’t feel safe or accessible at all. I told her the website didn’t mention anything about the restaurant being under construction. She responded, “That’s exactly what it says.” I checked again — it doesn’t. It only states that reservations are for the terrace. There's no warning or mention of active construction or safety concerns. That’s misleading and honestly feels like false advertising. No apology. No concern. Nothing. We left immediately and took my injured father and family to a different restaurant with far better hospitality. Yakimono, you failed today — on communication, safety, and...
Read moreWhat a pleasure it was to eat Yakimono sushi again! I'd eaten it several times when my Jewish managers had it delivered to the office, and I'd been thinking for a long time that I should order some for myself. The years have gone by and I've never forgotten those sushi! I'd always say to my husband, I've got to take you out for some kosher sushi from Yakimono! Today was Christmas Day, and my husband was sick, so I said: Today's the day. We don't want to cook or do anything. Yakimono's is open. Let's go! I called to make sure it would be open (Yakimono and I never have the same schedule, which is why it took so long for me to go back). The person on the phone was absolutely charming. I then quickly placed my order on their transactional site. Plenty of things to choose from! But, I chose the Imperial platter. I picked up my order. The girl on the phone gave it to me. Lovely as always. This sushi was a hit with my husband. He gave it 4.9/5 and I gave it more than 5/5. They are absolutely perfect! Well balanced, tasty, not too much rice, fresh, voluptuous. Not enough adjectives! We'll be back and try not to wait so many years! Happy Chanukah to all the Yakimono team! Keep up...
