I had the Jouvence on my way to work. The server was working alone and there was a line but she made it quickly with the perfect balance of flavours and consistency. They use paper to-go cups. Thanks for making my day! Came back to try the special of fried tofu and sautéed vegetables which came with surprise portions of salad and rice. The salad dressing was tasty and balanced. The rice was cooked to perfection almost like sticky rice. It was decent value of a plate for $12. I returned to try the veg dumplings and they were really good alone and with the sauces. Only complaint is an hour before closing they put the food in plastic containers and only tell you after you pay. They’re trying to give themselves less to clean but it’s still wasteful. It’s not that hard to wash simple dishes and stay a bit later. Pay your employees to do what needs to be done Came back for the Japanese tofu. It was so buttery and lightly breaded with good rice and salad. It seems they stopped using plastic to serve food in the evening, nice! Very disappointed in the general Tao tofu. It was so sugary I was nauseous even though I did my best to peel off the breading and sauce. Not edible. They gave me a 10% discount on my next order at least The tempeh burger was good but be aware it’s a small piece of tempeh and a huge piece of tofu , not what’s in the picture on the menu . The potatoes it came with were really good ! The veg sauté du jour was great except the onions were undercooked The green beans sichuan were really good but it didn’t say there’s beef in them on the menu. If I knew I wouldn’t have ordered them The mapo tofu with rice and salad was really tasty

Conveniently located next to the Laurier station, in a vibrant part of town, this place is as charming as the delicious fresh food it serves. With plenty of vegan options, and healthy foods, from a good breakfast to more hearty meals or sandwiches, worry not you can still satisfy that need for a good sizzling burger (vegan or beef) with all its flavours dripping down your chin. The setting is casual, perfect to have a coffee, do your work or even hold a meeting with friends and colleagues. There has been a rotation of owners over the years but its clean yet simple refurbished decor is trendy and reflective of the effort the new management is putting into this place to make it welcoming and memorable. Friendly staff, reasonable price, unique menu options, consistent quality, laid back atmosphere ... (Picture is a Poke Bowl, with raw salmon and spicy sauce).

I am a regular here and honestly just love love love this place. The food, the coffee, and the vibe are all great — it feels like the kind of neighbourhood spot everyone wishes they had. There are many regulars like myself, and the staff and owner are always super friendly. It’s a nice place to hang out, get some work done, or meet up with friends. The prices are very reasonable — their weekly special is only $12 and comes with protein, rice, and salad, which is hard to beat. Not sure why some reviews complain about the price… The photos are from different visits because I keep coming back. Also a huge fan of their pumpkin latte in the fall, homemade with real pumpkin purée. I was honestly sad when the season ended. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
