If you’re looking for a true Montreal experience, La Petite Marche on Saint Denis is a must-visit! Nestled in the heart of Le Plateau, this charming spot is beloved for its vibrant, welcoming atmosphere and generous portions that make brunch here a local institution. The staff are consistently friendly and accommodating, making everyone—from solo diners to large groups—feel right at home. What really sets La Petite Marche apart is its lively ambiance, especially during their frequent live music nights. On our recent visit, we were lucky enough to catch a performance by the incredible Mari Sild—Muusika ja Mõtted. Her soulful voice and captivating presence transformed our evening into something truly memorable. The venue regularly hosts a variety of talented musicians, creating a unique blend of great food and cultural discovery that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city. Whether you’re a music lover, a brunch enthusiast, or just looking for a fun spot to gather with friends, La Petite Marche delivers on all fronts. Don’t miss their live music nights—especially if you get the chance to hear Mari Sild perform! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience the best of Montreal’s food and arts scene.

This is a place that feeds the body and the mind. Food is decent but not extraordinary. It is also a good place for brunch on weekends. The architecture of the place was an adventure. Few years ago they tried the construction of partitions on the second level, but that work was stopped by municipal regulations. There's a space that resembles the interior court of an old Spanish house . Here they offer a diversity of spectacles, from flamenco to poetry, chansonniers and story tellers produce themselves from time to time. Another plus for this place is that it's located about a block and a half away from the north entrance to Laurier metro station. The sad part of it is that there appears to be a high degree of staff turnover.

My friends and I had a pleasant evening there. We didn’t want to be by the street and they quickly found a solution and merged tables together to accommodate us on the upper terrace. As for the food, the ingredients were fresh and everything tasted delicious. The portions are just right. Their focaccia is perfect! Their white sangria is refreshing and tastes like...summer! Their staff was new so they made a quite a few mistakes in our orders, which is understandable but it would’ve been nice to have something to compensate for the delays. On the other hand, we weren’t rushed and were able to enjoy our evening.

If I could leave a 0 star rating, I would. My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for a nice dinner and a drink. Everything was going fine, the food was okay, the drinks were pretty good and the performer was amazing. When it came time to pay, I realized that I could not afford a tip, and therefore didn’t leave one. My bill was already $50. Upon seeing that I hadn’t left a tip, our waiter made sure to let me know that if I couldn’t afford to tip, then I shouldn’t go out at all. This is BY FAR the rudest interaction I’ve ever had with a member of staff. I get it, times are rough, I’m young and I understand that tips are valuable. However they are also worked for and earned. I will not be returning here, nor will it be recommended to anyone that asks. The staff should not turn on a guest as soon as money...

I went to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon at around 4pm. It was well decorated and rather pretty. But you don’t go to restaurants just for the decor, right? I ordered a plate of pasta and it was decent but really nothing to write home about. We asked for some more bread and they said it would cost a dollar, which we thought was pretty cheap for a restaurant charging $17 for a plate of pasta. Then to top it all off, when we got our bill we saw they had charged $2 more on our dishes because it was after 4pm (apparently this was indicated on the menu). There was only one other table in the whole restaurant. They should’ve been grateful for our business not adding dollars here and there! Anyway I won’t be returning to this restaurant nor do I really recommend it. The restaurant adding $2 after 4pm was a...
