Where to start ? ... I started working in the Gay village 8 months ago. I always rather support local buissness than have lunch at Starbucks or Rachelle berry's. First time I go this young Asian lady serves me .. very nice And polite. Then she left for vacation as I could understand by the other customers she's well loved and very hard working. I decide to go back and it's an older woman at the cash I believe the owner? Anyways I ask her if I can have a specific kind of sushi but WITHOUT avocado and it seemed like the end of the world I'm very allergic and it causes me respiratory problems. She started talking in Vietnamese didn't seem so happy . Then I mentioned if it was too much of a hassle that I could choose something that comes without avocado already and she said it was fine but once again I specified I was allergic that it wasn't a picky eater matters. I get my order .. and there's avocado and I tell the lady hey I mentioned it 3 times you said it was fine I even offered to order something that doesn't have any avocado in it you said no it's ok so why would you give me something with avocado inside ? I told her not just to take off the avocado but that I wanted one freshly made without avocado.!!! Because I'm allergic and even if they take it out my food had already been touched by the avocado.. then she said it's ok it's ok I said no it's not it's my health and that it's not fair that I tried to avoid this kind of situation and it still happened. Ok I got new set of sushi's but I was still upset... couple weeks after I decide to go again... I order soleil sushi's and It's the same older Vietnamese lady that takes my order .. everything is fine once I get to my job . I want to start eating and I notice that the salmon is black has a black spot like it looks rotten doesn't even have the color of saumon... anyways I decide to throw it out and not even go back to have to deal with the cashier because what could've she done ? I mean I know that she knows that she gaved me rotten saumon. One last thing I'd like to say... customers know the prices of the different items on the menu that's why it's up on display for us it is very rude to ask a person if they have 19$ because it's that price . I felt very insulted when that was asked to me by one of the employees (the older Vietnamese lady) Actually takes your appetite away .! I think just being a little bit friendly that would be nice it's still real money we're paying and life is already enough expensive to pay for BAD...
Read moreThis restaurant isn't that good. Firstly, we ordered 3 CHICKEN sandwiches and 1 BEEF sandwich. Guess what we found inside them: PORK, there was PORK in each one of the sandwiches. They didn't mention anything about PORK when we ordered. Our whole family is HALAL, MUSLIM, So we don't eat pork in our religion, but they didn't say anything about until we started eating them in the car and realised there was things like pork in it, we called them and they told us theres pork in our sandwiches and that this was something NORMAL. They told us we had to warn them about not putting pork. BUT WHO KNOWS THEY WOULD PUT PORK IN CHICKEN AND BEEF SANDWICHES. This is actually a very disrespectful action. Not only halal people but lot's of other religions and people don't eat PORK. You can't just randomly put pork in chicken and beef sandwiches. AND if they actually would put pork, THEY SHOULD AT LEAST MENTION IT IN THE DESCRIPTION AND NOT MAKE IT A BAD SURPRISE TO ALL. Finaly, to be honest, the taste of the sandwich was not even that good. The bread was hard, and the overall taste of it isn't the traditional delicious kind of sandwich. We techinally bought over 41$ for 4 sandwiches that we can't EAT. The price isn't actually reasonnable, pretty expensive tbh. Compared with other Vietnamese restaurant and service, this is a really bad one. DO NOT RECOMMEND...
Read moreNo complaints about the service, it was fast and friendly. I got the seared tuna poké. The first let-down was that the fish came roughly diced, whereas the picture on the menu shows a bigger portion, thinly sliced in a pretty fan. Which is like, whatever, but presentation matters, and it seemed a bit misleading.
The tuna was fine; the real disappointment was when I got past the fish. Instead of a nice mesclun mix which is standard for every poké bowl I've had in this city, they give you iceberg lettuce. Bleh. The cucumber looked like it had been drying out at a prep station all day long, and the dressing was vaguely thousand-island. Basically you have to slog through the kind of sad side salad you'd get with a casse-croute cheeseburger.
The portions of edamame and especially wakame were hilariously small. The literal four stands of wakame I got could have been applied with tweezers.
Basically they skimped on every aspect of the dish, and the result is a big let-down. Assembling a decent poké bowl isn't hard, and every other place I've had one is...
