Worst experience ever. I had made a reservation for my birthday. As I come in, no one is there to greet or to sit me down. I talk to one of the waitresses and I am told to go to the back to be sat down. A woman who I am guessing is the owner is telling me yes indeed there is a reservation. She goes on to tell me I do have a table for you, the issue is that there aren’t any chairs. In what way does it help me to have a table with no chairs? Stupid response.
I then ask her what table did she have in store for me and she does not know what to answer. She is struggling to come up with a coherent answer that dosent sound as dumb as the previous one so she then says its all going to be ready in 10 minutes please wait. We waited 10 minutes and nothing was happening. Another 10. Still nothing. I ask her what is the hold up?
She then finally gets on it with a pathetic attempt to try and asks customers who are already sitting down if they could take a chair that is not being used.
The table that was supposedly RESERVED, that she said she had in store for me was a table being used for uber eats orders. Full of take out orders. A table that is glued to the back of the restaurant, with people a millimeter sitting on one side and waitresses constantly passing by on the other. When I told her this is unacceptable, I made a reservation, the women tells me « everyone reserved », again a stupid response. Where is the accountability on your part for messing up? For over booking? For the poor planning? What do I care if everyone reserved? They reserved and they got sat down… I reserved and I did not get to sit down.
The women took zero accountability, not even an apology for essentially ruining my night. One response worse than the next. Awful service on all aspects. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the headache and the time of day to deal with such incompetent people.

I wasn't going to write a review until I received the bill: they printed the tip on the bill without my asking, an 18% tip I might add.
Now I'm writing the review. And do yourself a favour find another restaurant on Monkland, there are plenty.
First, the garlic bread we ordered, was actually mini-croissants drown in parmesan cheese, yes mini-croissants. See the photo for yourself.
Then, spaghettini carciofi e aglio with olive oil, artichokes, cherry tomatoes and parmesan chips: in reality, the pasta was dry, there was no texture of olive oil nor parmesan, the artichokes were fade and not fresh. I asked for olive oil and she brought a plastic container of crude olive oil straight out of a depanneur. I asked for parmesan and she brought a small dispenser. The waitress said to consider myself lucky because I was served fast. Really? To the detriment of quality? Need I remind you that I'm paying for this. Forget about having a waiter ask you if you wanted parmesan and have it served in your dish. You will find this service in real Italian restaurants.
Other pasta plates ordered were Fusili Al Tonno and Penne al vodka. They were not well cooked and there too, not very tasty. My daughter said that it was nothing special, that we could've done better at home. Ouch.
So when the bill arrived and I saw that they printed the tip on the bill as if to put pressure on the customer, I was peeved to say the least. I asked to have the tip removed and that I was to chose how much to tip. Upon that request, the manager/owner came to ask what was the problem. Really? You act illegally and you have the never to ask what the problem was?
In my lifetime, this is a first. Advice to the...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 10:30pm Saturday night. It was so good to know that La Notte was open until 2am, so there was really no rush.
There is ample indoor seating and a beautiful terrace on Monkland. We opted to sit on the terrace and the slight cool breeze was in our favour.
The menu was filled with authentic Italian dishes. Since we were a small group. We tried virtually everything on the menu.
On the table we’re a few Italian oils, sauces and vinegars and a shaker of grated Parmesan, put ample amounts of grated Parmesan on the table and we are instant friends.
Let’s talk about the pizza. Fresh crust, handmade sauce and lots of cheese. These pizzas looked homemade. Made with love and care and beautifully presented on a thin metal tray. I loved the four-cheese pizza the most. I think there was blue cheese in there. The taste was exquisite.
The pastas were all nice, but the pesto pasta (sorry I don’t remember the actual Italian name) was my favourite.
From the desserts I liked the nuttela crepes the best.
There was a upbeat Miami ambience. When someone was celebrating their birthday. The lights went out for a few minutes, music was turned up and the staff came out with sparklers and fanfare. It made for a festive ambience.
This place is really nice new treat on Monkland and just happens to be kosher as well, which makes me very happy.
