My Top Favorite Things About Piment Rouge
Exclusive Parking Experience The thrill of parking illegally at the U-Haul next door really sets the tone for the evening. Nothing says "fine dining" like risking a tow while you enjoy your meal.
A Masterclass in Patience Loved the slow service! Waiting 30 minutes for a menu really gives you time to bond with your dining companions. Bonus: watching menus play musical chairs as the staff takes yours to another table mid-decision.
The Quest for Diet Coke Asking three times for a diet coke really makes you feel like you've earned it. When it finally arrived, I savored it like the nectar of the gods until the ice filled glass ran out of half the can of 6 dollar diet coke.
Mystery Entrée Roulette Who doesn’t love a surprise? Everyone at the table got to try multiple wrong dishes before eventually receiving their own, maybe. Pro tip: accidentally eating someone else’s crispy shrimp might be your best decision here.
A Culinary Tribute to Bland The food was impressive—if the goal was to eliminate all traces of flavor. It’s like they reimagined Chinese cuisine as a subtle ode to whitebread. My compliments to the chef for nailing "unseasoned perfection."
Birthday Cake Premium Nothing says “celebration” like being charged one slice of cake! The heartfelt effort in their singing, however, almost made up for the added fee. Almost.
Final Bill Suspense They know how to build anticipation. A 45-minute wait for the bill really lets you soak in the ambiance. The 18% mandatory tip option is the cherry on top of the overpriced sundae.
Final Verdict: Piment Rouge isn’t just a meal; it’s an experience. From the parking to the payment, every moment is a surprise. If you love bad service, bland food, and suspenseful billing, this...
Read moreThe restaurent is really beautiful, the food was correct. Taste fresh but i was expecting better especially for the price. I still enjoyed my meal but not my bill. The service was something else, the waiters were as confused as the customers about what was going on, they seem to be in a restaurant for the first time of their life. It took 25 minutes to get someone to come see us and take our order and we were sitting for 45 minutes before we got a glass of water. It make dinner funny having 5 different waiters who were really friendly trying to take care of us and what seem to be the manager trying to understand why we do not get our food rather than organizing his team for everything to go smoothly. definitely not enjoyable to wait so much to get average overprice food. I will keep a good memory of the chaos of service that happen under my eyes for a not busy service night but i would not recommend anyone to go there...
Read moreI wouldn't recommend this place to anyone because we had a terrible and disappointing experience last night. The quality of the food is poor and not at all like the previous one that was on 1170 Rue Peel, Montreal, QC H3A, or Chao Phraya that was on 50 Av. Laurier O, Montréal. Given the poor quality and level of service, the charges are excessive. We were asked to vacate the table while we were still having our coffee and desert, and the reason, as per the waitress, there are other customers waiting for a vacant table. I have never seen this kind of attitude in what is "supposed" to be a high-end restaurant before. I will never suggest this establishment to anyone since I am so dissatisfied. I am deeply disappointed and will never recommend this place to anyone. It is a complete waste of time and money. I hope they take the necessary steps to improve...
