I am firmly convinced that this is THE singular BEST Indian restaurant in all of Montreal. The food here is MIND-BLOWINGLY GOOD. It's honestly just plain amazing. Their butter chicken is out of this world and possibly made with fairy dust instead of salt and magic instead of a stove. Their mango lassis are so so delicious. Their gulab jamun is perfection itself.
Not to mention that the staff is really friendly and offers great service at all times! The place is also very clean and went through some renovations not too long ago so it looks nice. It's kind of small though so you may want to RSVP if you're bringing more than two people.
The prices are a bit higher than your average Indian place but, in my opinion, absolutely worth it because the quality of the food that you get is a full head and shoulders and waist above what you would expect from said average place.
$11.50 will get you a curry but it doesn't come with rice or naan so you have to spend three or four extra dollars on that. However, portions sizes are very decent.
I eat here every chance I get and it is my absolute favourite restaurant - Indian or otherwise - in the city. Whenever I'm there, I eat till I'm full, pack up my leftovers and order a couple of extra dishes (and naan, and desserts, and often a lassi too lol) to go because I want nothing more than to bring the wonderful flavors home with me.

Read moreFor over a decade, this used to be my favorite Indian restaurant. While many Indian restaurants are actually owned by Bangladeshi immigrants and the cooks are Bangladeshi, this one is owned by an Indian family. During my last visit about 10 years ago, the food and service were excellent and authentic, although there is not much in the way of air conditioning or ambience. However, things have taken a turn for the worse. The original husband and wife team are no longer the main cooks, and quality control has gone substantially down. The chili chicken dish had an unusual gravy, although it was pictured dry in the menu, and the chicken pieces were dry and hard. The lamb biryani was just as bad. The pieces of mutton were extremely dense and chewy. The only saving grace were the appetizers, Malhi special roll and the fried chilis, which were excellent. In addition, the manager, who was extremely rude, overcharged us for the drinks and an appetizer we did not order. Because of the poor food and service, I have to suggest avoiding Malhi. Pass...
Read moreSomeone told me to try the fish pakoras, desi pizzas (like butter chicken pizza, paneer pizza) so I’m rating so I remember. Edit: I placed an order on skip the dishes tonight. The recommended items weren’t on the menu so maybe they only have them in house. The food was outstanding! I love the eggplant, aloo gobi, naurtan (mixed veg) but all the dishes and appetizers were good (other things I ordered were the malhi special roll, dal makhani, chickpeas and lentil soup. I wouldn’t recommend the lentil soup but it wasn’t bad.) I got medium spicy but I would say it was on the spicier side and I tolerate spicy food so I recommend getting mild spice unless you plan on mixing with lots of rice or bread. All items except the lentil soup came in paper or tin containers which is highly appreciated! I try to prioritize reordering from restaurants that use eco...
