5 of us were seated by the kind waitress, Manjit, in a cozy corner of the restaurant where we could relax, have conversation and dine. The atmosphere was well arranged to allow us space to talk and for others to work on their computer or chat with friends. The TV was not too loud. We knew what we wanted to order. The waitress, Manjit, was genuinely pleased that we knew what we wanted because she loves her Punjabi culture and wanted us to share and enjoy Punjabi food. And what a selection! They had Dosas which ordinarily come from Southern India. Punjabi cultural experience is Northern India. They had Indian street food like chat papri. We enjoyed fish pakoras. The chai was homemade and not from the machine which combines powdered milk and tea mixed with spices. The mango lassi was excellent. All the other servers were very friendly and seemed to enjoy seeing us Westerners enjoying the food. Such integration of two cultures makes businesses like this succeed. And staff at Royal Punjabi on Jarry St. excelled at making our experience wholesome...
Read moreDonot head to this restaurant, or order for your events. I ordered biryani for my son’s birthday party, an order for 20 people and I was shocked to receive the yuckiest and most horrid biryani in the history of biryanis. Not only did the biryani lack any kind of biryani flavour or essence, but the vegetables used were raw undercooked and to top off our disappointment they used un tolerable amount of CAPSICUM in the BIRYANI. Imagine a biryani with capsicum in it. They charged us 160$ for this biryani order. The rice used was not even basmati , but a very low quality over cooked rice. All I could taste was undercooked onions and capsicum in every bite. Please save your money and expose these pathetic cooks who are delivering pathetic quality rice and...

I called the restaurant to book a table for 6 around 9.15 on april 15th. The waitress there answered the call. First she said dine in is open until 10.15-10.30 when I told her we would come around 10pm and we are six she said we are closed for dine in!! I asked her twice but she was confused however she agreed that they are open for dine in till 10.30. The one who answered spoke very abruptly and it wasnt polite at all.
