I came back a second time and ordered the baba ghanoush. I showed the waiter how it was a small portion for $14 plus tax plus tip. It came with unlimited bread but that’s not on the menu — I didn’t order bread (I’m not a big bread person). He started arguing in a rude way that compared to other restos in the area they are cheap. I said it doesn’t seem like it because there’s hardly any in the bowl but whatever that’s my feedback in the friendliest way possible given the tone he was using with me. He said the bowl is full in a condescending tone. I said it’s not and it’s fine but it’ll be my last time there. Then he offered to cancel the order, making my experience feel even more unpleasant. I said I didn’t want to waste the food and I don’t mind paying for it but I won’t be coming back. He said it doesn’t matter, ignoring my wishes. I said it does. He kept being rude and I said I’m a citizen of planet earth and I don’t want to waste the food, does that matter at all? He eventually was like “I’m not going to argue with you anymore” … good. You shouldn’t be arguing with me in the first place. The food tasted really good despite the small portion but it sucks even more that I have to spend my meal getting talked to this way and writing this instead of just enjoying the experience for whatever it offered. Teach your waiters social etiquette. I’m not usually the type to complain and it sucks when a restaurant isn’t trained to handle feedback with class and grace. I brought my family here before so I was actually a supporter before this. At least I had the chance to sit on the terrace so it was possible to chill out after. Edit: I spoke too soon and the waiter came up to me in a rude condescending tone to give me the bill and tell me they’re closing soon even though i was waiting a long time ready to pay. I told him I was ready to pay. He starts getting defensive “I was just telling you what I needed to tell you” so I asked him why he keeps talking to me that way and he should speak in a calm voice to customers. Then he says you’ve been the one arguing with me. I said no I was giving feedback. He starts arguing more and saying “oh and you’re doing so great in life”. I said I don’t think you should be a waiter, you should find another type of job. He said in a angry sarcastic tone “because you’re doing so well in life okayyy” . I said I don’t know how you have a job here, you should be in therapy. And he says right because you’re so well. Okay! And I said the way you’re acting right now I don’t know who raised you. And he starts telling me you’ve gone too far now, you don’t talk about my family that way. Okay so I’m trying to leave and pay and he’s still yelling and told me his name is Damier. I shouldn’t have paid tip but I did because I wasn’t thinking while he was abusing me and just wanted to leave. It’s really amazing how you let this guy work...

I was super excited to introduce the Turkish food to my family, I booked a brunch table for 4 and drove all the way to Montreal! The food was awesome but the service and the attitude of the gentleman who served us, was horrible! I understand he was alone serving outside tables and he was "running" all the time, considering most tables were empty! I asked for sugar for my tea, and after 15 mins where our teas were cold, I asked him again while he was cleaning other tables and said: Sir can I have some of the sugars from the other tables, you don't need to bring them back in! He said with an aggressive look: I'm running all day! You SHOULD not tell me how to do my job! It's painful and you attack me this way!!!!!! Then he started to weep! My wife, my sons and myself were all shocked of this! The we said maybe he's having a bad day! He brought the sugar in a very passive-aggressive! The table very next to us said they had a bad experience with him but that's what it is. When we were out of bread (not to mention that the portion for four was equal the portion for two!) we asked for some bread! It took another 15 mins and we were not sure (afraid/shocked) if we can ask again. He came to our table after 15-20 mins (we were not eating and just waiting because we didn't want to ask again and make him to feel attacked!) and said do you want bread? We said yes that's what we asked previously! I asked his name if I can talk to him in person maybe I could calm him down but he ignored me! When paying the bill I said I just wanted sugar for my hot tea and bread for my food, I guess bringing orders that don't require to be prepared are prior to cleaning other tables! I'm sorry if you felt attacked! He said the same words that I should not tell him how to do his job, again passive-aggressive while weeping/sobbing! Then I asked a lady who was serving the interior tables to help me to talk to the owner, she was super nice and politely gave me the phone number of the owner. I texted the owner and briefly explained the situation. He saw my text (RCS text) but didn't respond. Overall, the food was amazing, the portion of the a-la-carte for four was the same for two (we were told the portions will be based on the count of persons), and the service: horrible! The gentleman who served us might be a very good person but he definitely was not for a client facing and hospitality industry. Will I recommend...

I went today during lunch hour to Mirazu. We had reservations. It is a very popular place during lunch hour. Make sure you reserve. Around 2pm there were many empty tables. Our waitress was just starting to work at this restaurant. Her knowledge about the menu was very limited. Several.items on the lunch menu were not a available. I wanted to try the amber Turkish beer it was also not available. However whatever we ordered was delicious. My turkish coffee's half cup was filled with "telve". Whoever is preparing the turkish coffee should make sure not to dump the second cup with the bottom of the coffee grains. Lokum next to our coffee was a nice touch. The bread baked by the mother of the owner was very delicious. The desert was delicious as well. Kaymaklı muz ve bal. The food is great. Nice ambiance at the Mile End. Make sure you train well your servers. And possibly try not to put items on the menu that you don't have...

If you check my stats you'll see that I leave a lot of reviews and don't hand out 5 star reviews often. These are not words I use lightly when I say Mirazu presents a perfect dining experience. The menu seeks to introduce patrons with Turkish dishes Canadians are less familiar with from the grill spots that typically represent Turkish cuisine. They are masters of lamb here, ethnic criteria aside, this might be one of the best restaurants in Montreal to enjoy lamb dishes. My lamb shoulder dish had a heaping chunk of meat that made the price point well worth it. My friend and I also indulged on a trio of apps as well, between those and our main dishes we were completely stuffed until the next day. Our server was gentle and happy to talk about the restaurant's concept and Turkish culinary culture with us. Mirazu is an immaculate dining experience for both those who are affectionate of Turkish cuisine as I am as well as new explorers.
