Responding to owners response:
“We serve many people here and if anything our behavior is but condescending. I am sorry if you felt this way.” - First thing you said was in Canada we don’t do things this way. That was condescending.
“ It has happened in the past, that 12 to 14 tables would have walked in at the same time IN AN EMPTY RESTAURANT AT THE SAME TIME before closing (multiple times) where it was awkward and embarrassing to move tables when a couple occupies a table for 4.” - unfortunately I am not in the restaurant business but if I was I would have found a better way to explain and start the conversation without the condescending tone and berating in front of other customers.
“The server mentioned that you did not ask her but just joined the table regardless joking that the restaurant would not like this idea of joining another table of 2 for 4 people. She did not say anything and let it be.” - a. I did ask her for a larger table, the server asked how many people were coming we said two and she pretended not to get it, pointed to a table and walked away. also, we were not joining the other table for any other reason but to keep your glassware which we felt was going to fall otherwise. None of our personal belongings were on the said table. No need to have caused a scene over such a small thing. We were there to enjoy the vibes and sadly your behaviour just ruined our day.
“As far as the couple next to you, l myself joined their table as they ordered a lot of food and drinks and we had space.” - you still had space when we ‘joined the table’ and had no new customers walk in. You said a large group was coming in but let me point out that the table in question was for 2 people and it was the only one free so I am not sure how that would have accommodated the large group. Seems like you were making stuff up to for some reason vent - maybe our behaviour was so offensive that you couldn’t hold back?
“ Maybe you did not like the way l addressed the situation and l am sorry for it but also it was a bit of a surprise for us for the tables being joined before any order was placed as it is us the management who usually takes care of that and not the customer.” - I don’t get what’s the surprise in us using an empty table to keep your glassware - when literally no one new came in or asked for a table. And you don’t know how much food we were planning to order. By the time, we pulled the table closer, we already looked at the menu and were ready to order. Again, neither you nor I shall ever find out, so be it. But to say you were surprised and as a response berate customers in front of other guests is not cool buddy.
“It doesn't matter if you have been in Canada for 12 or 200 years. We are just not used to this with our customers in general. That's all. “ - I only bring this up since you were kind enough to educate me on how we do things in Canada. Again thanks for the lesson.
Also I don’t understand how you expected us to stay after your rude behavior. There is a way to handle a problem or talk to a customer. You can make a bid deal and it will turn out the way it did or you can handle it more calmly next time. But hey I am no one to offer advice since we don’t know how things work in Canada. Again thanks for the lesson.
————————————————————————————- Owners behaviour wasn’t good. We left before we ordered anything.
The issue was we asked the server if I could get one more table since the tables were extremely small, place was empty and couple next to us were joining two tables. The owner came over and told us that in Canada we don’t do this, next time before joining you should ask first. Well we did ask and the server did not understand. And the owner berated us in front of everyone. I have been in Canada over 12 years my friend and never had anyone behaved this way in front of other customers. Very condescending behaviour and obnoxious to the extreme. Your food maybe great but your...

Food: This isn’t your typical Indian restaurant serving the usual paneer, butter naan and Jira rice. If that’s what you’re after, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you're seeking something truly unique, this place delivers in every way. The menu is thoughtfully curated, reflecting genuine passion and care in every dish. We liked it so much that we ate there 3 times during our 3 day stay in Montreal. Here are the things we tried and absolutely loved. I normally like to rank dishes but all dishes came #1.

This was made with coconut milk yogurt that they make it themselves. I mean talk about the incredible amount of detail and care poured into creating it. Hibiscus & ginger drink - Chai - this came with the cutest sugar container on the side (see picture). Owner said he got them Bali when he was travelling.
Host, Service and Place: Exceptional service and hospitality! We arrived about 30 minutes before closing, yet were welcomed with genuine kindness. There was no rush — we were encouraged to take our time exploring the menu. The host, Abhishek, patiently walked us through each item, clearly passionate about the food and the experience he offers. What stood out most was — he even recommended other restaurants in town that he personally likes. How often do you see a restaurant owner do that? It was clear he is not running the business just for the money. Once we placed our order, the food arrived promptly and was absolutely delightful. It is a beautiful, boutique restaurant. The interior is beautifully designed with tasteful decor that creates a calming and inviting ambiance.
Overall, a...
