I have eaten at this place three times. The food is good, but I've had better. Indian food and the Plateau run on the expensive side, so this place offers average value. Their naan is more pita like and less chewy than I've had from places in CDN/NDG; not sure what had the other reviewers raving about it. I think their grilled dishes are what they excel at; the paneer tikka and Tandoori chicken were delicious. Spice levels range from Grandpa George to molten lava but were difficult to communicate properly to staff over phone.

However, they have lost our business permanently and here is why:

Not wanting to give in to the profit gouging that are food delivery services and living nearby, we decided to walk there and carry out. We called at 4:30 for pickup at 6. Person at the counter told us to call back if we could to remind them closer to the take-out time (lol). We did so but didn't get an answer. We showed up at 6 and waited at least 45 minutes for our food. All the while, swarms of Uber/Skip/DD were walking in and out for their orders. While we waited to even be acknowledged by staff, the person at the till was wasting many minutes on the phone with someone who had such basic questions as "what is a lassi." Subsequently, I watched him pick up the phone when it rang but not respond, opting to leave it off the hook instead. Nobody kept the Uber/Skip/DD people in line or enforced proper mask etiquette/distancing with them.

As a reward for our having waited so long, they gave us an additional sugar coma-inducing lassi on top of the one they include with all their orders.

It blows my mind that customers who order directly from themโ€“well in advanceโ€“and who give them the full profit margin are treated as second-class vs. someone who ordered 20 minutes ago on a 3rd party delivery service. It also speaks volumes about management's philosophy.

Sorry, Everest, but I'll make like the Dyatlov and pass...

Extremely low quality service. Came from a long way and went to the restaurant based on the good rating. I ordered Paneer Tikka Masala and the paneer in it was extremely hard to cut and very bitter in taste. There was too much salt and it was tasteless. Here is the funny part, I told one of the employee that the Paneer tikka masala is not good. She said i will be coming back and let me talk to someone inside. (I never saw her again) which i was not expecting and It is very disrespectful to the customer when they are not being heard. I told the same thing to the other girl as well and explained her about the first lady that i talked to. Then, second lady came after some time and she said I have talked to someone inside and said we will take care of this next time. We canโ€™t do anything at the moment. This was the point where you guys lost me as a customer. I came all the way from Toronto and was expecting to get good experience and food somewhere but it was not good. Like they never even tried to do something about it or make it another time. She said we will do better next time. You know what, I ainโ€™t gonna come next time and will share it with my friends.

It took them 45 mints to prepare the food as well. Eat something before you go here because they ainโ€™t gonna serve you before this.

PS: Donโ€™t go to this restaurant based on the rating. It...

TL;DR - Great curry & bread, excellent service, try the masala tea.

A warm, welcoming Indian restaurant with kind staff and a choice of spices for every dish, whether you want a mild curry or a tastebud-searing vindaloo.

We had the mixed tandoori grill - chicken, shrimp, kebab, and salmon on a bed of onions and peppers - and the chicken tikka masala, both medium spice, plus a roti and a butter naan.

The bread was gorgeous, fresh, and perfect with the curry (bread with curry is always better than rice, imo). The tikka was not as I was expecting - I'm from the UK, and the taste and texture was quite different to british-style CTM - but it was still really, really flavourful, not too spicy, with a generous portion of chicken.

It was less of a wet sauce and more of a chunky, onion-filled pile of tasty, tasty curry, so if you're looking for something a bit more traditional American-Indian, the butter chicken might be better, but I really think the chicken tikka masala was a nice surprise!

The mixed grill was pretty good too. Everything seemed to have a different marinade on it, so there was a nice range of flavours, although I'd probably just stick with the chicken or the kebabs if I...

Very unprofessional management. They ask people to come for multiple days of โ€œtrainingโ€ which is actually unpaid work. My friend was called for 2 days of training (5 hours each), and after completing it, the owner asked her to do 2โ€“3 more days of unpaid work at another branch. This is clearly a way to get free labour without ever hiring. On top of that, they donโ€™t provide proper breaks โ€” employees are made to stand on their feet for hours, even when there are no customers. This is not how a fair and respectful workplace should treat people. Be very careful before applying here. I appreciate your response, but this is not misinformation. I have screenshots and proof of the chats where unpaid โ€œtrainingโ€ for several days was asked, and my friend actually worked there without pay. After that, she was told to move to another branch and continue more unpaid shifts. If your restaurant truly values employees, then you should pay them for the hours they work, including training. Asking people to work for free is against labour laws in Quebec. Iโ€™m only sharing this so that others donโ€™t get trapped in the same situation.

I stumbled upon an absolute gem in Montreal โ€“ a restaurant that left me craving for more! ๐ŸŒŸ Nestled in the heart of the city, this place managed to capture the essence of Indian cuisine flawlessly. As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to find a menu that offered limited but fantastic options, reminiscent of authentic Indian flavours. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The taste was an explosion of familiar spices, transporting me straight back to India. ๐Ÿ›๐ŸŒถ๏ธ It was an unparalleled experience, unlike anything I've tasted in Canada before. The Shahi Paneer and Garlic Naan were the stars of my meal, brimming with the perfect balance of flavors. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ What truly sets this restaurant apart is its vibe โ€“ a harmonious blend of warm hospitality and inviting decor. The attentive service only enhanced my dining experience, making me feel right at home. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๏ธ In a city known for its culinary scene, this place stands out as one of the best. ๐Ÿ†โœจ If you're a foodie seeking a genuine Indian taste, don't miss out!
