Mr. Azteca — Restaurant in Montreal

I had heard about this restaurant because of the terrible service so I decided to go to give you my opinion, it has a very quiet atmosphere, the 3 stars are for the food that is relatively good,delicious and adequate portions, they only give you 2 napkins! everything was going very well and I enjoyed my meal, even the chef came out to ask if everything is alright! The worst thing was when I asked for the bill to pay !! The lady who treats me tells me that in the menu says that when there are more than 4 people "the tip is charged 15%" is not optional! you are charged for so she says is in the menu, but then when I ask 1- why you don’t include the tip on my bill ?2- is it mandatory? The lady was furious and answered me saying that the tip is not charged to the account but you must pay it, cause its on the menu !!!!! 🤔 (It should be noted that I had not even finished paying) then i asked her again what I did before, the lady was furious saying that many come to eat and are not tipped !! my position was "I'm sorry that others come and don't tip but it's not my fault, the food is excellent and the waiter's treatment was very good (it's Québécois ) but you demand a tip when it's optional and courtesy of the customer It makes me very bad on their part! I’m good giving tips to the people because I like when they serve me very well! And in this case the waiter did his job! But charge you the tips because it is on the menu, but In the bill it’s not? very bad taste! The lady practically finished by telling me to go away, although I went to see the waiter and gave him 20 cad as a tip thanking him for his good work !! THE TIP IS NOT REQUIRED OR CHARGED, it is something optional from the client to his waiter! I went for a service that they sell !! If they serve me very well I will gladly leave a tip !! customer service from this very bad lady !!

habia escuchado de este restaurant por el pesimo servicio asi que decidi ir para darles mi opinion, tiene un Ambiente muy tranquilo, las 3 estrellas son por la comida que es relativamente rica y las porciones adecuadas, solo te dan 2 servilletas! todo iba muy bien y disfrute de mi comida, incluso el chef salio a preguntar si todo esta bien ! Lo peor fue cuando pedi la cuenta para pagar!! la señora que me atiendo me dice que en el menu dice que cuando somos mas de 4 personas " se te cobra la propina un 15% " no es opcional ! se te cobra por asi dice en el menu, pero entonces cuando le pregunte 1- por que no me cobro la propina ? 2- es obligatoria ? la señora enfurecio y me respondio diciendo que la propina no se cobra en la cuenta pero debes de pagarla por aqui asi esta en el menu !!!!! 🤔 ( cabe destacar que aun ni terminaba de pagar ) entonces volvi a mi preguntar lo que anteriormente hice y la señora enfurecio diciendo que muchos viene a comer y no se les da propina!! mi postura fue de " siento mucho que otros vengan y no les den propina pero no es culpa mia, la comida es excelente y trato del mesero fue muy bueno ( es quebeco ) pero que me exigas la propina cuando es algo opcional y cortesia del cliente se me hace muy mal de su parte ! yo soy de dejar propina pues me gusta cuando me atienden muy bien! y este caso el mesero hizo su chamba! pero que te diga que te la tiene que cobrar por que esta en el menu, pero en la cuenta no ? se me hizo de muy mal gusto ! la señora termino practicamente por correrme, aunque yo fui a ver al mesero y le di 20 cad de propina agradeciendo su buen trabajo!! I tryed their new location at the Mile-End (never been at the one on St-Hubert street) there is different prices for pretty much the same tacos. If you ordered different meat they will charge you more 3$ than if you ask the same kind 2.50$/each or you have the tacos al pastor 4x12$. We ask a tortilla soup for entry and it arrive like 15 minutes after the principal dish and after reminding the waitress. The dish was well served and tasty but the chilaquiles were too saucy and way too softy. Spicy sauces are vert good too. The wait should definitely be improved specifically when there is barely 4 tables occupied in the restaurant and not even during a rush our. Me and my family had already been to Mr. Azteca a while ago and the food back then (like 1 year or 2 before) was very well prepared and had amazing flavour, however, yesterday we went once again and I was very dissatisfied and disappointed with the food. My pastor quesadillas tasted bad, the meat inside the quesadilla was basically all what we call Chirgue there was not a lot of meat in and it tasted like oil more than pastor which is usually a nice seasoning and sauce. My husband ordered tacos flautas and they took about 25 min to make them and if he does not ask what had happened to his order we could have probably left without him eating anything. Overall, the food was bad, I think it also gave me like a rash (allergy) and the service was bad too since they were too busy. I won’t be going back there...
