The place is hidden and very hard to find. It was disagreeable to look for it and had to call the restaurant. Secondly, the place is immense yet empty and quiet, which makes for such an awkward date. I could listen to everyone’s conversations. When it came to the food, the tuna tartare came in the weirdest plating. Two bites of tartare for over 20$? No spoon was provided to plate my own tuna taco. The crab dumplings were delicious. The lobster ramen broth was great as well, but having to dig out my own lobster was not how I envisioned my date. Then, the mackerel was good but truly overpriced. It is one of the cheapest fishes after all, served with potatoes. It was topped with random herbs which were not cohesive with the plate at all. On a positive note, the service was excellent, and the place is quite pretty. The drinks were good and they offered us shots on the house which we appreciated. I think it is necessary for the executive team to sit down and experience the dinner for themselves. I think the food has great potential but the attention to detail is really lacking. Perhaps this could be more positioned as a tapas bar if the music and ambiance was better. Cheers!

Recently opened two months ago, NOMI (from the same principals as neighboring Jatoba) was quickly on our wish lists to check out and we were not disappointed. In a dark modern-esque style with a commanding bar in the middle and two seating areas bookending the bar, the restaurant is both spacious and surprisingly intimate. Even as the restaurant filled up the noise level was reasonable. We sat at the bar which had a nice 180 degree view of other patrons and activities (and the bar chairs were comfortable). The menu is Japanese-eque with most dishes in the smaller, "tapa" size range. Our selection including Sashimi Salmon (excellent, light and fresh), Soup Dumplings (delicious, one of our best ever), Karaage Chicken (thin almost filet like with crispy breading...very tasty), Hotate Scallops (very good), Brussel Sprouts (delicious), Crispy Tofu (very good). Service was on point and very prompt. Special call out to TIM R. who took exceptional care of us (we are very appreciative and wish you all the best). Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

Went to Nomi for drinks and diner. The food is good but in my opinion the variety is not wide enough. You have some great bites to taste. You can also have tatakis. Makis are not available but you have dumplings and a steak and some more options. Loved the fried Kani and the tatakis. The moscow mule drink I ordered was less then average in my opinion. What I loved is the atmosphere. It is a chill bar so I would definitely go back again and have a different drink.

Great food in a very nice urban decor with good background music just at the right volume to insure privacy in our discussions without having to raise our voices. That said the 40 something botoxed crowd dressed like rich teenagers wasn’t our cup’s tea :(

The experience would had deserved 4 stars but lost a star due to the slow service (one wonders if it’s to sell more alcohol) but we were brought our first service of food 1h after our arrival. The other 2 services were 40min apart not to mention that our waiter disappeared for 20-30min and we had to go order a bottle of wine at the bar…

Will we go back?...
