Totally disappointed with the experience from start to finish. -Reservation: on the website it was easy. And I left a message requesting some courtesy as I was celebrating a birthday. I received an email with instructions and one of them is that someone was to contact me. If that didn't happen, I was to contact them by phone. Which happened as they never contacted me. -Arrival at the place: I don't know why the reservation is made if they didn't have anything ready, neither the table, nor something "special" for the birthday or anything. Additionally, I found a message in which it said that you could only stay in the establishment for an hour and a half. Which makes no sense, as long as you keep consuming. Neither on the web page, nor in the call did they mention this condition. Additionally, on the menu there was a warning that if the plate was not left empty, the customer would be fined an amount of money. -Food ordering: It is done through a tablet which I found convenient, however there is no record of what is ordered versus what has already been brought to the table. According to the photos, I ordered a large amount of food and they didn't even bring me half of it. We had the impression that they were taking our food to other tables nearby, because food was always arriving, but not to ours. My guest and I lasted more than an hour (from 19:04 last order to 20:15 of the next order) without receiving food or ordering because we were afraid that they were going to bring us that amount of food and we would not be able to consume it. I asked a waiter what was going on and he told us that the food was coming, which never happened. I asked another waiter again, he did not tell us to place our order and that he would bring us the food immediately. So the order was placed at 20:15, and the food was brought to us. However, everything we had already ordered was lost, to which the waiter replied "you must have a memory to know what you eat and what you have been brought". If I wanted to play memory games I wouldn't go to that restaurant.
The only thing to highlight is the quality of the food. Delicious, but the customer service is lousy. The control of what is ordered versus what is brought to the table is...
Read moreI went twice here and once with 6 people (tourist from outside of America) and second with another person (2 people) the first time, we were ordering and eating and at some point during the meal, our orders were taking some "time" to come. At some point it was never coming (don't forget were 6 people). I found that very odd especially if its an "all you can eat/buffet" So we called them out. we had to order again because it "didn't go through". Worse part is that we took a picture of our order, and they didn't bring everything we ordered. A little odd, very suspicious if you ask me... We let it slide because its not a big deal, mistakes happen sometimes...
I went a second time, even though i had these suspicions of our last encounter and to also give the benefit of the doubt, like i said mistakes happen. Plus the food is great. This time we were 2 myself and another person, we ordered around 3 orders (sushi's, soups, dumplings etc...) now i was literally half full... Our orders were AGAIN taking too much time to come and now were talking about ( 4 scallops, 3 dumplings and a couple sushi orders...) so to seal the deal i ordered ice cream for desert, guess what came first after our order and after 10 min of waiting, you got it right our ice cream. I understand if there's a rush, but the rush was over and its been over 15 minutes that i placed the order. I stood up and left midway. While i was paying the ice cream came over this is about 20 min wait. I walked away midway because i didn't even feel like i was in a "all you can eat/buffet". Forgetting can happen once maybe twice. but not more than 2 times in a row and playing dumb and, im reading that im not the only ones experiencing this.
This isn't the first time i read one of your reviews about this and i went twice. Because initially the food is great, but your screwing your customers over.
I would understand if it was a mistake, but not that this happens to me twice in a row, it is no longer a coincidence. Its too bad because i would've given you guys a solid 4 star, but the fact your robbing me of my money and others is...
Read moreAfter our last experience we tried hard to stay away from here due to the poor service of the staff. Well we came back today, hoping for a new, positive experience.
We came in, it was less than half full, and after waiting for 5 minutes at the entrance without anyone seating us, we sat down in a 2-person table against the wall.
One of the waiters, a fellow with yellow/orange hair and a t-shirt with the words "anti-social social club" came over to demand we move over two tables away from the wall. We didn't want to sit away from the wall so we asked him nicely to please let us stay. He told us we either had to move or we had to leave the restaurant. We compromised with him to move us down 6 feet to another table against he wall. This ordeal took 10-15 minutes and all the while this waiter didn't accomplish anything related to his job. He was simply taking the opportunity to flex what little authority he had at the expense of the business, the experience of me and my girl, and also at the experience of all the rest of the staff and clients who had to wait 15 minutes for him including a couple groups that had collected at the front of the restaurant waiting to be seated. He had the power to make people sit where he wanted and he was not going to let anyone take that away!!
The food was good. The service is slow but that's OK. The orders were accurate which is rare for these types of places in Montreal. While we ate there the restaurant went from half full to 15% full. Some 30 minutes after we changed places, they sat a new different couple at the table we were forced to move from. The waiter also said they would have just kicked us out and refused service but they know we used to come there often.
As an owner of a business myself, I know that this ordeal goes against the goals of the owner. I hope they take the opportunity to retrain this individual on what the goals of the business are. There was no need to move us and it was just a petty display of power by an...
