I am not the person to write negative reviews; however, this is one of, if not thee worst restaurants I have ever eaten at in my entire 50-years on the planet. And I eat a lot! Like most tourists looking for a new place to eat, I was lured in by the photos and reviews. I honestly would have been better off at McDonalds regarding flavor, satisfaction, and pricing. The paper straw was a big turn off as well. Pina Colada was made from a mix at $13. On Friday night around 6pm , September 6th I was very hungry as I had not eaten most of the day. I had the double cheeseburger, with double bacon, which was 100% flavorless! You know it's going to be BAD when they don't even ask how you would like it cooked (rare, medium, well). There was no salt or pepper on the table. The bacon had ZERO flavor. The bun tasted like it was literally defrosted moments earlier and was stale and completely flavorless. I had to force myself to eat the thing. I wanted to substitute their mac n cheese instead of fries, but was told I had to pay full price ($20+) for the mac n cheese rather than upgrading. Now I have a huge flavorless burger, a huge flavorless mac n cheese that tasted like Kraft out of a box, and a giant plate of fries. My entire meal cost $70 , plus tax, plus tip ($60 USD) for one person. Halfway thru my meal I glanced to the left and caught the kitchen cook intently staring at me watching me eat for the past 10 minutes as if I was the entertainment. Very uncomfortable! The previous night I had one of the best meals in Montreal at the Keg Steakhouse in Old Montreal. For the same price I spent here, I had a FALVORFUL and SATISFYING 20 oz. ribeye steak, garlic mashed potatoes, mushrooms, carrots, string beans, unlimited free sourdough bread, and two Pina Coladas!! FOR THE EXACT SAME PRICE as a bacon double cheeseburger and fries with mac cheese and one pina colada. I've been visiting Montreal since 2007. This was my 21st visit. It was also my final night in town before returning home. This unsatisfying meal and the feeling of losing $70 really put a total damper on my vacation. I will never eat here again, and I will tell everyone to avoid. This experience is similar to receiving a speeding ticket. Remove the Band-Aid quickly...
Read moreThe first time I visited Notre-Bœuf-de-Grâce, I wasn’t expecting to be blown away—I just wanted a burger. But what I got was quite possibly the best burger and best fries I’ve ever had in my life (and that’s only a “maybe” on the burger because there’s one other contender). I was genuinely shell-shocked.
After a cozy writing session at Café Aunja, I was walking back toward the hotel and decided to check this place out. The interior had a great vibe—cool art, writing all over the walls, and a very laid-back but modern energy. My girlfriend, who’s Greek and from Toronto, pointed out the Greek phrase above the bar, which listed drinking cheers in different languages—just one of many thoughtful, global touches throughout the place. The staff were incredibly friendly and bilingual, and they made the whole experience even better.
The burger was out of this world—juicy, flavorful, beautifully put together—and those fries? Absolutely unforgettable. A perfect balance between steak fries and shoestring, they were chunky, soft inside, lightly crispy on the outside, and seasoned to perfection.
My second visit came the next night—my girlfriend had to return to Toronto, but I was in town an extra day. I saw they served steak frites, so I went back, sat at the bar beneath the Greek writing in her honor, and treated myself to another incredible plate of fries (and yes, the steak was great too, but let’s be honest, I was there for those fries). I even enjoyed a well-made cocktail, soaking in the vibe one last time.
Now that I’m back in Vermont, I can’t stop thinking about that burger. And the fries? Still unmatched. Notre-Bœuf-de-Grâce has officially ruined other burgers and fries for me—in the best...
Read moreOrdered ubereats from here. The impossible burger was dry extra mac and cheese costs $6 there was about a tablespoon of Mac and cheese on the burger. I tried to request lettuce tomato and onion on the burger as well. I got no lettuce two slices of tomato and what seemed like half of an entire onion. All things considered this burger was dry had way too much onion and is far too overpriced and made without any concern I had tater tots sticking out of the box and crushed. I paid around a little over $50 for my order knowing this I saw the state of the burger and tried to contact the restaurant directly to let them know the poor quality of the burger they had sent out. In addition I was trying to see if they would accomodate sending a new burger that was a little better for the price I was hoping so. Unfortunately whomever I spoke to on the phone simply brushed me off not caring about the quality of the food they sent out and said well you know what you can deal with uber it's not our problem to deal with. "You can order again through UberEats and maybe they'll give you a refund but you have to deal with them." This is supposed to be a quality burger restaurant I would have had better service and a better experience having gone to McDonald's even knowing the level of food there. This is extremely sad having been a repeat customer and being treated this way and seeing this is what they're willing...
