I hate to leave a negative review because I’ve been to this salon at least four times before and generally had a good experience. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was extremely disappointing.
I called to book an appointment with Derya for 6:30 PM. The person who answered confirmed the time and mentioned that Derya might be a bit busy, so there could be a short wait. I arrived at 6:45 and waited in the front while Derya was still with another client.
After about 10 minutes, a gentleman approached me to wash my hair, saying Derya would do the haircut afterward. I walked by Derya to say hello — as I’m a regular client — but she ignored me completely, which felt quite disrespectful.
After my hair was washed, I was seated and waited again as she was still with another client. Derya passed by me without acknowledging me and even bumped into my shoulder without saying anything. A few minutes later, she returned and asked how I wanted my hair cut (no hello). I explained politely, and she trimmed my hair for about five minutes before passing me back to the gentleman to blow dry.
Then, during the blow-dry, he asked, “Why did you come late?” — and that’s when it became clear to me why they were upset. The 15 mins delay. Even though I had been told there might be a wait because Derya was busy with another client; and she was! The salon was still full of clients.
I understand that being late can be inconvenient — and I don’t excuse that — but if it was truly a problem, they should have let me know that they couldn’t accommodate me instead of treating me with such hostility. The attitude was unnecessary and unprofessional. It completely ruined my evening and affected my plans afterwards.
To top it off, the haircut was rushed and poorly done. The layers weren’t blended.
Derya is talented — I’ve had good experiences in the past — but there are many skilled stylists in the city. What really sets a salon apart is professionalism, and sadly, that was lacking...

When I arrived for my appointment time in the morning, they weren’t open yet. I waited. Figured it was okay, it happens, sometimes people run a little late, no problem.
When someone arrived to open, it was already 10 minutes past my given appointment time. Then, I was told that while they found the appointment for my balayage, they couldn’t seem to locate the one for my cut but it wouldn’t be a problem to do it.
The appointment took so long because my technician/hair dresser kept working on 2 other clients simultaneously. There were periods I waited and waited and waited for them to actually do something and so were the other two clients.
The balayage did come out nice BUT the haircut (the basic inverted bob I requested and even showed a photo of), was horrible. It wasn’t an inverted bob at all. The hairdresser basically just cut my hair the same length all around. For someone with curly hair, that isn’t a good thing. It created way too much volume at the bottom. They dried it straight and $350 and generous tip later, I was done. I was also left with tons of dye marks on my forehead and back of my neck that weren’t properly cleaned and got darker. When I got home, I tried scrubbing it to clean it off but had to endure a few days and washes with it.
I was really looking forward to the outcome, but it wasn’t what I expected at all. The balayage was okay, the haircut was such a disappointment and I had to pay someone else to fix it so that it actually looks decent.
I don’t want to knock this place. It has potential. There are lots of people with straight hair that come out looking great on their Instagram account… I don’t think they get a lot of curly haired clients though or I imagine they would have...

I called asking the owner if I could come at 6pm. He asked if I could come earlier, so I said no problem I would come at 5:30.
I arrive at 5:25 because I respect his time. After sitting until 5:50 without the owner even saying a word to me, I go and ask him if he will be taking me for my appointment.
He tells me he can only take me at 6:15-6:30. This is after asking if I can come earlier than my proposed time of 6pm.
Ridiculous business that has no regard for their customers.
HE ASKED ME TO COME EARLIER?? Then proceeds to make me wait without even coming to say a word for me until almost the time I had originally asked if I could come in? Then he tells me he can only take me one hour after the time he told me to come? What is this?
If he had even bothered to come up to me while I was waiting 20 MINUTES to have the courtesy to tell me he was running late I would not have minded. But after leaving me waiting 20 minutes after my appointment time, I had to GO ASK HIM if he had time for me, and he tells me he needs to push my appointment an hour? If I had just sat there I don’t think he would have come up to let me know he was running so late. So incredibly rude and unprofessional.
I’ve been coming to get my hair cut here for almost 2 years but no more after today.
The owner has gotten GREEDY and books too many people now, that’s why he’s always late on appointments. This is not the first time he has left me waiting but today after being left to wait for 20 minutes without even coming to explain to me that he was running late, I’m over it.
Prepare to be kept waiting at this salon, such a horrible experience after being a loyal customer...
