For the past 12 years, Pekin Garden had been our family favorite restaurant. It had its ups and downs, but generally we were pleased by their food and always returned. Sadly that has changed, it now gets a FAILING grade after our recent experience...

We ordered delivery and it arrived COLD. Not luke warm, completely at room temperature, cold. Even the soup! Needless to say it was ruined, cold and soggy, sauces congealed (reheating in the microwave did not revive it). Far more concerning, the egg-rolls were burnt (almost blackened!) flattened and dried out, and several dishes had unusually low-quality meat and chicken that could not be chewed. Overall the food was terrible in taste--cold or not! On top of this, they carelessly forgot to include a main dish dipping-sauce we ordered, which we paid an extra surcharge on. After a few bites it left us feeling sick and we had to THROW IT ALL OUT. A dinner for two that cost $50!

I politely phoned in about the issue, but was told it's our fault because we ordered at a busy time and their driver has many drop offs. To add insult, they charged an extra $3.00 delivery surcharge when they are incapable of organizing deliveries. I called a few days later to speak to the owner, but to no avail. Instead they rudely told me off and spoke over me, not even willing to listen or apologize. I said we won't ever return and they are losing long time customers, and they literally said THEY DO NOT CARE! I can overlook high prices and shrinking portions, but food so bad it has to be thrown out? And then to be apathetic and rude to your customers when they tactfully voice concern? Unfortunately we will never order from Pekin Garden again. I cannot recommend them any longer and I hope this can go out as a warning to anyone new or long time customers. This restaurant has gone way downhill in recent months. Avoid...

Terrible, Inedible Food + All The Rudeness You Could Want! The worst, most inedible food! Black Bean Beef dish meat was so vile-tasting and rubbery I would not want to know what type of meat it actually was! Eggroll completely flat + dried-out, fried rice tasteless.Got our simple order wrong and waiter was rude + cold,ignoring us throughout. When my friend refused to tip him he asked "how come." He then told her never to come back or he would "kick her out".Unfortunately I had already tipped him + was very polite to him,despite his much deserving otherwise. He then told BOTH of us to leave + that we had been there long enough!!! Another employee sitting nearby (seemed to be owner) also told us to leave + that he needed our table. We were the ONLY customers in the place! Years ago, in their former location up the street, they lost almost all their clientele, who banded together and spread the word about their lousy attitude and disrespect. They changed course when they went empty! They now well deserve to go out-of-business completely. Someone tell them that customers are their bread-and-butter and have many other options from which to choose! Don't patronize where you are disrespected and served inferior...

Not impressed, we ordered to take out since the restaurant was going to close.

Very expensive, and not impressive with either the quantity/quality of the meal.

Overall very bland and too much msg, gave me a headache and was burping all night.

When paying at the counter when we ordered out, the server barely acknowledged us, and we got a dirty look when we gave them a lower tip.

Tip is for service, we didn't get any service, we just ordered out, why should we tip at all? Tip is meritocracy.

As for the order... Ordered the combo number 1 for 2 won ton soup: both was bland and lacking in texture, the won ton was cold and had a bad artifical taste to it. egg rolls were good, very crispy and the plum sauce was delicious cantonese style chicken chow mein: the chicken was rubbery and overall was completely bland, except for the overly added MSG, making it too salty. fried rice with chicken: again very bland, and too much msg, had to add alot soy sauce for it to...
