Review for Calzone Ricotta and Pizza Bianca at Pizzeria No.900 Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)

Ambiance Walking into Pizzeria No.900, you're immediately greeted by a warm, rustic atmosphere that perfectly complements the hearty Italian cuisine. The decor, with its charming mix of wood and brick, sets a cozy tone ideal for enjoying a relaxed meal with family or friends. The soft lighting and friendly staff make you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door.

Calzone Ricotta The Calzone Ricotta is a standout dish that truly showcases the restaurant's dedication to quality and flavor. The crust is perfectly golden and crisp on the outside, yet soft and chewy on the inside—a testament to their skilled baking. Inside, the ricotta cheese is rich and creamy, blending beautifully with the other fillings, which include a mix of fresh spinach, savory mozzarella, and a hint of garlic. Each bite is a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that leave you craving more. The portion size is generous, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying meal.

Pizza Bianca The Pizza Bianca is another highlight of the menu. This white pizza, free from the usual tomato sauce, allows the toppings to shine through. The base is a perfect balance of crispness and chewiness, providing a sturdy foundation for the toppings. The mix of mozzarella and ricotta cheese creates a wonderfully creamy texture, while the addition of garlic and olive oil gives it a fragrant and slightly tangy flavor. The sprinkle of fresh arugula on top adds a peppery bite that contrasts nicely with the richness of the cheese. It's a sophisticated yet comforting dish that showcases the restaurant's ability to elevate simple ingredients into something extraordinary.

Service The service at Pizzeria No.900 is exceptional. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and always ready with a recommendation or a smile. Despite being busy, the wait times were reasonable, and the food arrived hot and fresh.

Overall Experience Overall, Pizzeria No.900 delivers a delightful dining experience. The Calzone Ricotta and Pizza Bianca are both must-try dishes that highlight the restaurant's commitment to using high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the portion sizes and the quality of the food justify the cost. Whether you're a pizza aficionado or just looking for a great place to enjoy a meal, [Restaurant Name] is well worth a visit.

Pros: Delicious and well-crafted dishes Cozy and inviting ambiance Attentive and friendly service

Cons: Slightly higher prices on a small size pizza

Final Verdict: A near-perfect spot for anyone craving authentic Italian cuisine with a touch of elegance. Definitely a place to return to for more...

This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. We arrived and the restaurant and even though it was not busy at all, it still took a while for the waiter to come bring us to our table. We waited a while for him to come back and take our orders or bring water and he did not come until we flagged him down. We asked for more water many times and never got it. They were out of an ingredient that a couple of people had ordered - it wasn’t even peak dinner time yet. Then when the food finally arrived, one of the pizzas was extremely burnt and had to be sent back. Another pizza was lacking ingredients and was all crust. We asked for hot peppers… they brought them after we had finished eating. We again tried to flag the waiter down for water … he never came back. We asked another employee who then spilled water all over two of us. The pizza that was sent back cause it was overcooked was never brought back to our table - when we went to the counter to ask about it they said “ya it’s ready”… it was sitting on the counter yet they never brought it to our table. We noticed other tables were not getting the same service as us, the waiter was checking on them regularly. By that point we had voiced that we were unhappy with the service and our waiter sent someone else to give us our bills. I’m not sure if there’s a reason why our table was treated this way but it was a very...

We had a 7:30 reservation and when we arrived it was evident that the air conditioning was broken, as it was very hot in the entry and they had fans placed around the restaurant. The hostess didn’t mention address this in any way but seated us in front of a fan so the temperature was comfortable during our meal. We had cocktails (Lemoncello spritz and an Old Fashioned) and they were very good. My wife is gluten free and they offer a gluten free rice crust, so she ordered the Prosciutto and Fig on GF crust, I had the Four Cheese. The pizzas came out quickly and the crust on both pizzas were excellent. Usually gluten free crusts are thin and hard/crispy but this was very fluffy and authentic to a true Italian pizza crust - Amazing! We were a little surprised that the pizzas came did not have any “base layer” of cheese or white sauce; just the crust, goat cheese crumbles spread out, arugula, prosciutto, and fig jam sprinkled across it. The effect was that it was a little dry…basically a salad laid on a crust, but overall still good and flavorful. My four cheese pizza was excellent and very flavorful.

The service was not very attentive, so it was hard to get their attention to ask for anything, despite being one of only about 3 customers.

Overall, I would go back for the food, but would have had a better experience if the AC had been working and the staff had been a bit...

Was not impressed with the food or service here. Went at 8:30pm on a Saturday and was not too busy. It started to get busier around 9pm when the bar seating also filled up. It seemed like they were short staff for servers and chefs. It took a while for someone to take our order - eventually the bartender took our order. Between two people we ordered the arancini and Italian sausage pizza. Was asked if we want the arancini to come out as a starter before the pizza and we said yes. We waited close to 30 minutes for the pizza to come. Its wood oven so should not take a long time to bake. When the pizza was brought out the bartender/served asked if we already had the arancini, and we told him no. He asked if we wanted to cancel but we still wanted it. It was then brought out within 5 minutes. The pizza's topping were sparse and not spread out well over the pizza. It was mainly all towards the center of the pizza. It might have needed more time to set as it was very hard to cut and would lose all shape and completely fall apart. We got one beef and one spinach & ricotta arancini and both were good. Although cute restaurant, I would not return to for pizza.

We had a reservation at 6:30 pm. We were promptly seated but no menus were brought out to us, so we looked the menus up on our phones. It then took about 20 minutes just to place our order, as the staff were running back and forth past our table and it was difficult to get their attention. I ordered the fig & pancetta pizza which I thought came with balsamic drizzled on top - when I asked, they said they don’t have balsamic. I saw a photo from someone else’s review and it definitely had balsamic over it, the goat cheese was a little overwhelming without it. The pizza was still very good and you get a lot of goat cheese - but very little pancetta and maybe 1 fig cut into quarters for the whole pizza. Our other pizza, the porcini, was REALLY good, but the service was really slow. We were going to order drinks and the desserts, which I was really looking forward to, but we were already waiting for an hour minus the eating time. Then, when asking for the cheque, it took another 30 minutes just to get the server’s attention. If you are in a rush, it’s better to try this place another time.
