An unforgettable culinary journey at H3
I just had an epic dining experience at H3 Restaurant, and I can't wait to share the magic with you all! From the moment I stepped in, I was whisked away into a world of luxury and charm.
The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, making it the perfect backdrop for a truly remarkable meal. But let's talk about the real star of the show – the food!
Each dish was a work of art, carefully crafted to perfection. The Lobster Tartlet was a delightful surprise, and the garden pea had this smooth, creamy texture that brought out the natural sweetness of the veggies.
The Scallop Lamb Brioche left me speechless. The combination of fresh seafood and lamb with that unique sauce was an explosion of flavors! No doubt, it's going on my "must-try-again" list.
Now, let me tell you about the Mezzaluna Potato Louis d'or Truffle – it was pure indulgence! The black truffle took it to a whole new level, and every bite was a delight.
Oh, and the Veal Turnip Chanterelle, Fresh! Fresh! It was a luxury experience on a plate! The quality and flavors were out of this world. Kudos to the chefs for their dedication and passion in creating such masterpieces.
And the dessert, oh my goodness! The Honeyberry Guanduja Black Noyer was a stroke of genius. The chefs perfectly showcased the flavors of the seasonal Honeyberries, and it was divine.
Let's not forget the Lobster and Wagyu Beef dishes – worth every penny! The chefs truly know their craft, and the sommelier Leslie's recommendation of the Champagne Deutz Classic Brut elevated the dining experience even more.
I also want to give a special shoutout to Andy, Lina and the rest of the staffs for their excellent teamwork. They were professional, attentive, and made us feel like honored guests throughout the evening.
Having experienced some renowned food scenes, I can confidently say that H3 Restaurant has captured my heart like no other, it left a lasting impression that rivals even the charm of Paris. Montreal, you've got a gem...
Read moreBeautiful ambiance and excellent service. My waiter was absolutely lovely. However, my dining experience left much to be desired. I was very excited for one particular appetizer listed on the website under the Tables Gourmandes tasting menu, only to be told that the menu had rotated and the option was no longer available. I would advise to keep the menus updated on the website to avoid this type of disappointment from customers.
In lieu of my desired appetizer I ordered a duck confit fried spring roll. This was served on a hard, non-porous rock-like platter. As a result, there was a huge pool of oil accumulating under the food (see the attached photo). I'm normally not difficult and very understanding with kitchens, but this is the first time I had to offer a kind suggestion to the chef at a restaurant because the amount of oil my food was swimming in was simply not acceptable. The waiter was very gracious in receiving my feedback.
My main, the chicken ballotine, was good - nice flavour, pretty presentation - but the dish itself fell flat and felt uninspired. It wasn't bad, just not exciting or creative, which is what I was brought to expect based on the restaurant's website.
The tiramisu was perhaps my biggest disappointment. I am accustomed to a tiramisu that is light and airy, ladyfingers packed with coffee flavor. I was disappointed to find that this rendition of "tiramisu" was topped with a cream that was thick, dense and pasty - it had clearly been pre-refrigerated. At $7 for a small portion, I expected more.
As a Montreal local, I've stayed at this hotel before and I've had breakfast at the restaurant. It was good (not outstanding, but good). With such excellent reviews, I wanted to give the lunch offering a go, especially with the limited edition menu (which ended up being pretty much the same as their regular one...). I was left feeling that the overall experience was quite mediocre and the service and atmosphere were the only...
Read moreWe had a really nice experience at the restaurant H3 and we would definitely go back. The food was delicious! Our main issue was the service. My feeling (and hope) is that since it was during the holidays that maybe the regular staff was on vacation. First, I'd like to mention that one of our secondary waiters (a young man) was excellent, he was very enthusiastic about the food and in a great mood. Unfortunately the main waitress and sommelier were really lacking in some areas. It was so strange to me that the main waitress who seated us did not bring us a food menu. We had to ask for it. All we were given was a cocktail menu which was so strange because we had just come from the lounge. We were really excited about the restaurant's wine selection and menu and neither one was mentioned to us. Finally we asked for the menu and it was brought. The food ended up being excellent. In terms of wine, the sommelier was really below expectation. Our budget for a bottle of wine wasn't amazing (around $75-$100), but we were really made to feel like there wasn't going to be very much in our price range. The sommelier brought the wine list and just pointed to a few wines in our price point. She didn't describe the wines or show any enthusiasm for wines. Just as a comparison, we've recently gone to Vin Papillon, GiaGia, June Buvette, and Foiegwa, who have lesser wine collections, and at all those restaurants we got much better sommelier experiences. All these restaurants make a point of bringing 3 to 5 bottles to the table and even allowing you to taste them. It's usually a whole experience. But maybe this wasn't the main sommelier (as I said since it was the holidays). All in all, I would go back if I was staying in the hotel. The food was delicious and the ambiance was great. I feel bad complaining about the service, but it was a...
