the owner of this restaurant is judgmental and has discriminatory behavior. as my family and I arrive to the restaurant, a worker asks us if we’d like to be seated indoors or outdoors. Then , since it was cold outside we requested to be seated indoors. to clarify, as i reserved , there was no mention of outdoor seating and i automatically assumed that the restaurant is indoors. However , after our request to be seated indoors, the “boss” man , the owner or which ever name you’d like to call him whispered to the worker , and gestured that he wants us seated outdoors. The worker questioned the boss , but due to the abuse of power and authority had to follow his orders. Thus, we were placed outdoors. Then , when we asked to be placed indoors ( where there were many available tables that could fit a group of 4 people - the place was half full and was not that busy) because we were cold the server told us that either we sit outdoors or we’ll have to leave since there is “no available seating outdoors”. The server certainly sympathized with us but due to the boss’s directives had no authority in letting us in. At that moment i felt rejected , the reason why we were put outdoors is due the way we look and dressed. my family and i dressed casually as we believed that discrimination based on class did not apply no longer . However , this place upholds such discriminatory practices and links casual clothing to lower class. We didn’t fit the restaurants interior design thus we were banished from entering the area. I didn’t have a cute little black dress on thus i was placed outside in the cold , left there to shiver while i await my food. This is infuriating as we were placed outside , with two other tables next to us , all alone , separated from the other classy people ; we felt like outsiders. I felt as if i was inferior to others. I felt as if my human rights were violated. This sort of behavior and practices are not acceptable. I do not recommend this restaurant based on my experience. Definitely never going back there and would recommend many other Italian restaurants such as “tiramisu” or “stellina” or “bevo bar” which has better food and better service. Thank you.

++++ note on other discriminatory observations: everyone sitting outside were people of color ( my family included) , the people on the inside were predominantly white. use your...

Came in yesterday at 6:45pm, I had a reservation at 7pm (The reservation was not in my name) and they made me wait in a random spot between tables even though my table was wide open. When my friends came in at around 6:55pm, they made us wait until 7:15 to actually guide us to our table. Service was ok, nothing mind blowing.

Food was good, I had the tagliatelle bolognese. Again, nothing mind blowing and quite expensive. I had one of their house drinks which was a total of less than 4oz for 19$, so VERY overpriced. The squash and sage raviolis are good, but the raviolis themselves are quite bland, you only taste the sauce.

At 8:40, our server came by and told us we had to leave before 9pm because they had another reservation, but when we called, they said we would have the table until 9:30pm. We told our server who went to get his manager to confirm. The manager is one of the most condescending person I’ve ever met. Me and my friends are in our early 20s, and he treated us like we were 14 y/o. He said that the confirmation email my friend received was fake, that we never had the table for 2.5 hours, only 2 hours. When I told him that we got sat down 15min after the beginning of our reservation, he said that was because my friends were late (not the case). I told him that no, they came in early and he proceeded to tell me “No, that’s not true you’re lying”. The only person who came in “late” was another friend of mine, who could only come at 8pm, but I’d told the hostess about that as soon as I came in that we did not need to wait for her and that she would only order drinks.

A seemingly 40y/o man telling a 21y/o she’s lying because of a mistake your staff made is unbelievable and unacceptable. I absolutely do not blame the staff, but I cannot believe the pure unprofessionalism of this manager. Nevertheless, after this whole manager incident, our waited apologized profusely and kept telling us that he understood our displeasure and that it was completely a mistake on their part.

Ps: I almost did not leave this review after seeing how the owner responds to bad reviews. You claim to be a restaurant that offers a luxury experience, yet this is how you treat clients that had a bad experience? By basically insulting them? Don’t worry, I’m sure I can find Italian restaurants with staff that won’t call me a liar for...

Scammed by Kasandra!

We recently visited Fiorellino as a group with high expectations. The food was excellent, the DJ was amazing, and the ambiance was fantastic—we genuinely didn’t want to leave. However, our experience was significantly impacted by the poor service and questionable billing practices of our server, Kasandra.

From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely slow. We waited 30–40 minutes before even being asked if we wanted drinks. When we finally ordered, Kasandra was impatient and dismissive, even refusing to take a friend’s order later because he hadn’t ordered immediately. We tried to be understanding, considering we were a large group, but the experience only got worse.

The drinks took forever to arrive, and when they did, some were incorrect, while others never came at all. My food order was also wrong, and instead of correcting it properly, she took a partially eaten plate from another guest and gave it to me—an unacceptable and unhygienic solution. I chose to accept it to keep the group’s mood positive, but it was disappointing.

The most serious issue was the bill. Two friends, who don’t speak English, were overcharged by $20 for just two pizzas and a mocktail. Kasandra didn’t show them the total before processing payment and rushed them through the tipping screen without transparency. When we pointed it out, she acted confused, and only after another staff member intervened was the $20 returned in cash. This felt intentional rather than an honest mistake.

To make matters worse, our birthday celebration was completely overlooked. We had planned to stay longer, enjoy more drinks, and celebrate, but due to the poor service, most of us barely had one or two drinks before deciding to leave.

We love Fiorellino—the food, ambiance, and music were incredible. However, service like this ruins what should have been an amazing night. Large groups can be challenging to manage, but dishonesty and poor service shouldn’t be tolerated. We hope management takes this seriously and ensures future guests don’t have the same experience.

Thank you for your attention to...

MAX the bartender here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Honestly major 5/5 stars for Max’s outstanding service, great conversations and just making us feel so welcome in Montreal (we are here for business from Vancouver). Max was so amazing that I actually came here twice during my short business trip: once for dinner and once for lunch. Both times the pizza was amazing and perfectly cooked. I ordered the burrata in margherita pizza twice and love how generous they are with the burrata! For dinner we also had the truffle paste pasta (not a super heavy truffle taste and pasta was perfectly al dente) and for the lunch I had the calamari as well (very crispy and a decent portion for sharing). The pizzeria is definitely more chic and bistro-like - very pretty tiles on the floor and bar seats for late night drinks. They stop serving food at 10pm because the kitchen is closed so since we are tourists from Vancouver, we didn’t know this and were initially turned away by another server with slightly wavy dark hair. BUT we are SO THANKFUL for *Max* whom talked to the server and Max came running out to tell us that he will serve us pizza since it was late and we had a super hungry child with us. Honestly Max went way above and beyond in terms of service and kindness. I will forever tell this story and share with my colleagues how amazing Max and Fiorellino have been. Great pizza, excellent service and kindness, and great bistro pizzeria vibe. PS, ask for their chili flakes and olive oil (SO AMAZING). Super good olive oil so make sure you ask for it to drizzle on your pasta/pizza.

In short: my food looked way better than it tasted. Would return, but would order something else. In long: the vibe is great. Music at a nice volume that blurs the conversations at neighboring tables; makes it feel private despite the seating being a bit tight in some spots. Waitress was very warm and friendly, but took long times between coming to check on me. Ordered the Tagliatelle con Funghi and was very disappointed. The mushrooms were very chewy and difficult to breakdown. In fact, most of them, I sat to the side of my dish after attempting to eat them. The dish did not have enough cheese or salt to cut the oil. I would have requested some cheese, salt, or red pepper to make it better but my server didn’t come by until I was finished eating with the plate pushed away. Perhaps I ordered it on an off night, but I won’t be getting it again to test my theory. Sadly, the best part of the meal was the water and the fact that I didn’t pay for it.

Wow wow wow! Dined at Fiorellino as a party of 6, while visiting Montreal for the Canada Grand Prix. What an amazing meal we had. To start off, the charcuterie board was SO fresh, as you watch the chefs slice the meat right outside the kitchen. Must order. The meat balls were the favourite amongst the group, so tender and sauce allowed the flavours to shine. The bolognese was very authentic and flavourful. Cod was fresh and cooked to perfection. Lobster pasta special had a very generous portion of lobster (half a lobster) Fantastic. Very lovely selection of wines. Many reviews complained about the noise, but as a trendy restaurant we loved the atmosphere. We ordered after dinner drinks to enjoy the DJ longer. The chef is very talented and had the pleasure of talking to him after our meal. Our server Alex was great! All in all very well done. We will all be repeat customers when ever we return to Montreal.
