the owner of this restaurant is judgmental and has discriminatory behavior. as my family and I arrive to the restaurant, a worker asks us if we’d like to be seated indoors or outdoors. Then , since it was cold outside we requested to be seated indoors. to clarify, as i reserved , there was no mention of outdoor seating and i automatically assumed that the restaurant is indoors. However , after our request to be seated indoors, the “boss” man , the owner or which ever name you’d like to call him whispered to the worker , and gestured that he wants us seated outdoors. The worker questioned the boss , but due to the abuse of power and authority had to follow his orders. Thus, we were placed outdoors. Then , when we asked to be placed indoors ( where there were many available tables that could fit a group of 4 people - the place was half full and was not that busy) because we were cold the server told us that either we sit outdoors or we’ll have to leave since there is “no available seating outdoors”. The server certainly sympathized with us but due to the boss’s directives had no authority in letting us in. At that moment i felt rejected , the reason why we were put outdoors is due the way we look and dressed. my family and i dressed casually as we believed that discrimination based on class did not apply no longer . However , this place upholds such discriminatory practices and links casual clothing to lower class. We didn’t fit the restaurants interior design thus we were banished from entering the area. I didn’t have a cute little black dress on thus i was placed outside in the cold , left there to shiver while i await my food. This is infuriating as we were placed outside , with two other tables next to us , all alone , separated from the other classy people ; we felt like outsiders. I felt as if i was inferior to others. I felt as if my human rights were violated. This sort of behavior and practices are not acceptable. I do not recommend this restaurant based on my experience. Definitely never going back there and would recommend many other Italian restaurants such as “tiramisu” or “stellina” or “bevo bar” which has better food and better service. Thank you.
++++ note on other discriminatory observations: everyone sitting outside were people of color ( my family included) , the people on the inside were predominantly white. use your...
Read moreCame in yesterday at 6:45pm, I had a reservation at 7pm (The reservation was not in my name) and they made me wait in a random spot between tables even though my table was wide open. When my friends came in at around 6:55pm, they made us wait until 7:15 to actually guide us to our table. Service was ok, nothing mind blowing.
Food was good, I had the tagliatelle bolognese. Again, nothing mind blowing and quite expensive. I had one of their house drinks which was a total of less than 4oz for 19$, so VERY overpriced. The squash and sage raviolis are good, but the raviolis themselves are quite bland, you only taste the sauce.
At 8:40, our server came by and told us we had to leave before 9pm because they had another reservation, but when we called, they said we would have the table until 9:30pm. We told our server who went to get his manager to confirm. The manager is one of the most condescending person I’ve ever met. Me and my friends are in our early 20s, and he treated us like we were 14 y/o. He said that the confirmation email my friend received was fake, that we never had the table for 2.5 hours, only 2 hours. When I told him that we got sat down 15min after the beginning of our reservation, he said that was because my friends were late (not the case). I told him that no, they came in early and he proceeded to tell me “No, that’s not true you’re lying”. The only person who came in “late” was another friend of mine, who could only come at 8pm, but I’d told the hostess about that as soon as I came in that we did not need to wait for her and that she would only order drinks.
A seemingly 40y/o man telling a 21y/o she’s lying because of a mistake your staff made is unbelievable and unacceptable. I absolutely do not blame the staff, but I cannot believe the pure unprofessionalism of this manager. Nevertheless, after this whole manager incident, our waited apologized profusely and kept telling us that he understood our displeasure and that it was completely a mistake on their part.
Ps: I almost did not leave this review after seeing how the owner responds to bad reviews. You claim to be a restaurant that offers a luxury experience, yet this is how you treat clients that had a bad experience? By basically insulting them? Don’t worry, I’m sure I can find Italian restaurants with staff that won’t call me a liar for...
Read moreScammed by Kasandra!
We recently visited Fiorellino as a group with high expectations. The food was excellent, the DJ was amazing, and the ambiance was fantastic—we genuinely didn’t want to leave. However, our experience was significantly impacted by the poor service and questionable billing practices of our server, Kasandra.
From the moment we arrived, the service was extremely slow. We waited 30–40 minutes before even being asked if we wanted drinks. When we finally ordered, Kasandra was impatient and dismissive, even refusing to take a friend’s order later because he hadn’t ordered immediately. We tried to be understanding, considering we were a large group, but the experience only got worse.
The drinks took forever to arrive, and when they did, some were incorrect, while others never came at all. My food order was also wrong, and instead of correcting it properly, she took a partially eaten plate from another guest and gave it to me—an unacceptable and unhygienic solution. I chose to accept it to keep the group’s mood positive, but it was disappointing.
The most serious issue was the bill. Two friends, who don’t speak English, were overcharged by $20 for just two pizzas and a mocktail. Kasandra didn’t show them the total before processing payment and rushed them through the tipping screen without transparency. When we pointed it out, she acted confused, and only after another staff member intervened was the $20 returned in cash. This felt intentional rather than an honest mistake.
To make matters worse, our birthday celebration was completely overlooked. We had planned to stay longer, enjoy more drinks, and celebrate, but due to the poor service, most of us barely had one or two drinks before deciding to leave.
We love Fiorellino—the food, ambiance, and music were incredible. However, service like this ruins what should have been an amazing night. Large groups can be challenging to manage, but dishonesty and poor service shouldn’t be tolerated. We hope management takes this seriously and ensures future guests don’t have the same experience.
Thank you for your attention to...
