BEWARE!
This will be a long review of our horrible experience at Tularosa
We arrive there at 6:40 and it is fully packed. We are sat at the bar right in front of the cooks which is fine and understandable. We order shortly after being seated towards 6:50. 30 Minutes pass and all we get so far is the one drink we ordered. 5 minutes after that, around 7:30, our waitress notices that we haven't received our guacamole appetizer and gives us some chips. They were served without the usual salsa as noted on the menu and half of them were either over cooked or soggy. it is only until 7:45 that we finally receive our guacamole. Mind you it took them 55 minutes for them to serve us our single appetizer. It was only 5 minutes later that we finally received our main dishes. I had ordered tacos with a side of fries but the fries were nowhere to be found. 10 Minutes after we start eating our food, I tell the waitress to cancel my fries because we were almost done eating. She does so on the register, but doesn't advise the kitchen. 5 minutes later, I see them finally dishing it out my missing cancelled fries. In total, it took us an hour to receive our entire order, excluding the afterthought fries.
The food overall was subpar and borderline bland. The tacos were missing salt and the salsa verde was flavourless. For the price, you would expect far better taste and service time. 20$ for 3 medium sized tacos with barely any toppings is truly a slap in the face. Not once did our waitress check in with the kitchen for an estimate of our food or to tell them that we were still waiting on our guacamole. Although she was nice, it did not make up for the fact that no care was actually given to us. Additionally, to make our experience worst, every time fajitas were being dished out, we were being engulfed and all the fumes while we waited.
This is beyond just "growing pains" as our waitress described it. With 4 people in the kitchen and 4 people running tables and 2 people at the back as well as the higher prices, you would expect far better. We left angry and dissatisfied with every single aspect of this restaurant. It is safe to say that we are never returning back to this establishment and would wish for other people to avoid the same fate that we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas in the area and we decided to try it after seeing the tiktok review. First impressions, cute little spot with a terrasse on a busy corner, sticky placemats and a slippery floor. But, let me give this place a try...1st choice: Quesabirria but they were out. 2nd choice: Barbacoa but they also ran out. Enchiladas Cochinita it is! And they were delicious. Tender meat, smooth beans and a flavourful rice. Started with the guacamole as an appetizer and O.M.G... fresh fresh fresh! Downed that with their refreshing Mexican mule. Sampled my friend's Pina Colada and wow, heaven! She couldn't stop raving about her shrimp tacos. The flavors are mesmerizing. Quality fresh ingredients that will leave your taste buds speechless! Although it was quiet, don't expect a quick meal. Plates are prepared carefully and your food will be served hot! Perfection takes time. Service was friendly but needs a little adjusting such as serving drinks for the table at the same time (we were only 2!) And rinsing the cloth often, might ensure your placemats aren't sticky. Over all, we will be back! I absolutely need to try those Birria š®. Appetizer, drink and meal, will run you about $50+ tip but hey, food as good as this... Just take my money! If the chefs continue to put out plates like they do now, I have no doubt that they will be successful for a very long time! Do yourself a favor and go give this place a try. You...

Service was a bit slowāunderstandable for a new restaurantābut we did have to ask for utensils when the food arrived, no hand towels were provided unless requested, and we had to follow up twice for a bottle of water. That said, our waitress (a lovely Latina woman whose name we didnāt catch) was warm, friendly, and really made us feel welcome.
The guacamole was excellentāhighly recommend it! The rest of the food was good, but I wasnāt a fan of the margaritaāthe juice or chaser used gave it a strange taste.
One big downside: the lack of vegetarian options. I was offered a meat-based dish with the meat removed and just the beans kept, but the price stayed the same. That doesnāt make much sense for vegetarians, and it really limits the options for non-meat eaters. Adding a few well-thought-out vegetarian dishes would go a long way.
Overall, Iād still recommend this place and look forward to seeing it improve. With a few small tweaks in both service and the menu, it could easily become a 5-star favorite in the...
