I have been wanting to try Roch le Coq fried chicken ever since I saw it on TV and on MTL blog's Instagram's page. I was not disappointed. I called to place an order on Saturday around 3h20 in the afternoon thinking the place was already open as per Google. However I was told that the restaurant was opening only at 4 PM and my order will be ready only 4:15 because I was not willing to wait until 4:30. I found the restaurant very accommodating in that sense. When we came for our pick up there was a line up to the restaurant already and delivery guys coming in and out of it. My husband got the order very quickly , it was already ready for us for pick up. We ordered 10 pieces of dark meat mixed bucket. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened the order to see the coleslaw in it. I guess I didn't read properly that it was included with the order. The food was delicious. Finger licking good. The chicken pieces were tender and crispy, not salty ( a huge plus for me ) and not greasy at all. The coleslaw was out of this world, made out of red cabbage with fresh herbs and a bit on a spicy side. Which was pleasantly surprising. We also ordered fries with it , one fries order was included with 10 pieces, we just added a second one. They were very tasty too. The portions were generous. I will definitely order again and I recommend for you to do the same. You won't be disappointed . Thank...
Read moreI tried Roch le Coq with my wife. I ordered through Door dash and it came hot and crispy. I heard good things about the place and really wanted to try it.
We ordered the Rochy sandwich and the Mega Roch as well as 7 pieces of the chicken bucket (white version) combo with the fries and coleslaw. The presentation was good, the pickles as well. Sandwiches had kimchi mayo inside which was really good with the chicken. The fries didn't come with the burgers but we had some fries coming with the chicken bucket. Fries were very good and crispy. The sauce that came with them had a weird taste, I didn't really like it. Their mayo sauce tasted like oil and fat. They also didn't have ketchup, which I found weird.
Overall, the chicken was good but nothing out of the ordinary, it was tasty and juicy. Personally, I feel that it is overpriced for what it is. I tried it out of curiosity but I know better places far more affordable. I cannot say I recommend or not but they really need to step up if they want to compete with other fried chicken...
Read moreI tried Roch le Coq on a Friday night with a friend. The place was PACKED and they had about 15 Door dash orders waiting on top of the customers who ordered as take-out. I heard good things about the place and really wanted to try it.
I ordered the Rochy sandwich which was very small, but inexpensive (5.50$) which could explain the price. The presentation was good, the pickles as well. It had kimchi mayo inside which was really good. The fries don't come with the burger, you have to order them on the side, they were good as well. The sauce that came with them had a weird taste, I didn't really like it. They also don't have ketchup, which I found weird. My friend ordered the 2 piece combo which was 14,75$ for the chicken, fries and a coleslaw salad (a bit expensive for what it was).
Overall, the chicken was great but nothing out of the ordinary, it was tasty and juicy. We waited around 20 minutes for our orders which seems reasonable considering that it was a Friday night and there were a...
