Paltoquet (Le) — Restaurant in Montreal

Was visiting Montreal during my holiday, decided to visit this place, well here is my experience. Croissants 🥐 are really tasty, once they are fresh, but customer service is horrible, no smiles, horrible attitude towards customers, waitresses is not approchable at all, which is really frustrating. ( specifically would like to point it out tall, skinny black hair girl, mostly dressed in black). If I would be an owner of this place , would definitely higher a proper stuff, what at the end of the day would make difference and contribute to a successful business. Ideally, if you like the product you just grab and go in order not to face stuff faces, who seems like they hate their life by working there.! On Wednesday 1st May 2024, around 11:30 I was served by a person who might be a spanish speaker, and I did not like the experience. When another waitress took our order and was ready to give it us outside, she screamed saying that we had to pay in advance. I don’t mind that, but i did not like the way she handled the situation. Later on it started raining a bit, so we went inside. The table was dirty so i asked if i could have a tissue to clean it. She looked at me intrigued and went to the table with me. Then, she looked at this table as if the table was clean and said “ remove the cup” so she could clean. Im not sure why I am even tipping for such bad service. I used to come to this place all the time, introduced it to my friends, but now I’m afraid that I won’t be returning there...

My mother and my little sister comes to this bakery quite a lot and enjoy the food. Today ( 03/03/2015 ) at around 12pm, my mother ordered 3 croissants, 2 almond croissants and 2 salmon quiches. She was planning to sit at the tables and asked a white female employee with blonde hair if she can warm up the quiches for her.She then replied "Next time, when you want to eat here, tell us.". As she said that, other (white) customers started laughing at my mother. My mom left the bakery humiliated. My mother is Asian and we are extremely disappointed in the service.

I only recommend white people to enter this bakery or they will ask you to "WARN" them if you are coming in.
