Had a really bad experience at Shawarmaz UQAM. Walked in for dinner, and despite the place being empty, the staff at the counter seemed completely uninterested in taking my order. They were more focused on chatting with each other than serving customers. When I finally placed my order, the food I got was cold—clearly something that had been sitting on the grill for a while. Even the rice was cold. I specifically asked for it to be spicy, but the guy just rushed through the order and didn’t seem to care.To top it off, I was charged $3.99 for an orange juice, which was more than what was listed on their menu board. I also ordered takeout, and they didn’t bother to give me any cutlery or napkins—or even let me know where to grab them. The portion size was way smaller than expected, especially for the price. I ended up paying almost $30 for a single platter, which is crazy expensive for a restaurant in a university area.Food quality was okay, but the customer service was one of the worst I’ve experienced. The staff kept chatting in their own language, barely acknowledging customers. Honestly, it felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. I left without tipping because this level of service doesn’t deserve one. Definitely won’t be...

I ordered the "saj poulet" trio. it came with a saj which is a thinner, crispier bread instead of pita. I also got potatoes and a soda.
pros: good portion, I always like my wraps all dressed, which was nice. the potatoes were dry, but well seasoned. but the garlic sauce needs some work. more garlic? and bigger dip cups? too white, needs to be more yellow.
cons: spicy sauce is a bit much though, as it makes the wrap's main character the spiciness. the chicken was also dried out and stringy, which was not nice. my partner got the falafel Saj, which was better than the chicken.
service: what you'd expect from a shawarma place. awesome vibes. nice people. nothing to complain about!
atmosphere: call me critical, but I dislike modern looking food places. they make me feel like the place is going to open and close in less than 10 months. my suggestion? lower the brightness by a tad bit, add some colour other than red in the decor. give it some life! not just white and red. the music and window are...
