I have been remiss. I spent Nov 18th and 19th pretty much living here. I was so enamored with my experience I promised the girls I'd post a nice review. It's Dec 23rd now and I never got around to it. Apologise girls, that's my ADHD taking hold and avoiding stuff. But I never forgot.
I went up to Montreal to see the Tool conxert. I went pretty early as 530 am was the only direct flight. Anyways I walked the city until about noon and was done.
I had read good reviews about their food and beer, plus it was directly across from my Air bnb. My buddy wouldn't be in until 7pm and I couldn't check into my Aorbnb until 4.
So I settled in.
What can I say, especially after all that preamble.
I had the best time. For pretty much 2 days this was my home. The Airbnb sucked. Plus it was above a nightclub...I heard the beat drop a lot. Seficit to say, MVP was a far superior place to hang out.
Food is top notch. I'm from Dartmouth NS, represent, and maybe the food price seemed high to me, but I quickly learned it's on par for the area. So no complaints and really they kept me alive for 2 days.
Now to the ladies. Tina and Erika, what can I say. They have been friends for 28 years...and it shows. It was like watching a dance, they worked so inherently in sync they didn't need to speak, amazing to watch , and a credit to them both. Having long friendships mean something. And these two have it. I'm fortunate to still be close with my elementary school friends, so I get it.
I was made to feel at home during my time there. They looked after me. I was in a safe place in a quasi sketchy part of town. So much fun I had here. Also I learned in Montréal you are either a Labatts or Molsen place. They're Labatts and you best be drinkin the Labat 50. Man I drank gallons of that.
So dear reader should you have reached the end of my long and very enthusiastic endorsement of this establishment, let me thank you for considering my.....endorsement a mitigating factor in your decision to visit this fine....establishment.
Merry Christmas everyone at MVP, including the regulars who also welcomed us and were awesome to hang with....
Also it should be noted I think I'm posting this on Google, so if it says Aubrey's Adventures and there's a picture of a little girl, that's my daughter and she wants to be a YouTube star, and I humour her. As well I don't have it in me to have two Google accounst....
Read moreI was in Montreal for a business trip that happened to correspond with SuperBowl Sunday. When I asked the front desk at my hotel they highly recommended the MVP. When I called MVP to inquire about reservations, they told me all sold out, but if i got there early, they may have a seat open at first come first serve. I went in to the MVP a day early and met the most wonderful employee their named Tina! Tina is an amazing gal and her dedication to customer service and her fellow employees is nothing short of outstanding! My coworker and I watched the UFC matches on Saturday at MVP and when we were on our way out I asked Tina if we could request her as our server on SuperBowl gameday. She said of course and reminded us to get in early. When we arrived on Sunday, Tina provided us the best seats in the MVP (right in front of the large screen) and the evening began. We started with the loaded Nachos and it was giant and tasted great. Of course beer was served and consumed. Then we ordered the MVP pizza and devoured it with delight. Even though the place was packed Tina was attentive to everyone at her stations and made everyone feel welcome and appreciated, I travel quite extensively for work and it can be a lonely time. Having a warm friendly smile greet you and treat you like an old friend is such a welcome treat. Thank you Tina for your wonderful smile, great attitude and overall great service. I would highly recommend MVP, as I am sure all the staff is just as dedicated. I just got lucky and had the pleeasure of Tina as my server. Thank you MVP for hiring such a wonderful staff. The next time I am in Montreal I will definitely return to MVP and if your are reading this and in Montreal, make it a...
Read moreIve been before and it is usually a great place to hang out with friends and watch sports. However, last time I was there the waitress we had was absolutely terrible. We requested to watch a game and had to ask her three times before she pulled it up. Afterward her manager came to apologize on her behalf. She made it clear that she was very frustrated with us, she gave us some unnecessary attitude saying that she thought the game we had requested was the game that was playing (even though nothing changed on the TV). When we finished our meal we asked for separate checks, she said that MVP doesn't do that and she can only give one check to the table. Going here in the past my table was always given separate bills. She refused to split it up, acted as if the machine was broken and kept giving excuses. When we asked her if she could get her manager to split it up instead, she told us to "be quiet you don't work here I do". We never got split bills... when my group was leaving she said "thanks for the tip and that atitude" and then started harassing us saying things like "you think this is funny?!"... Someone in my group told the waitress to be more respectful and she said "I'm not talking to you!". After telling her to leave us alone more then once she finally got out of our face.
An extremely unpleasant experience, I will be going somewhere else to watch sports...
