Update: I'm thoroughly impressed by Spicebros' customer service and their willingness to go above and beyond for their customers. I was contacted by their team and they not only apologized for the negative experience, but also offered me to refund me or provide a gift card and I agreed to the latter because I wanted to try Spicebros again considering how committed its owners are.
On my recent visit, I tried their main item the 'Frankie roll' with a garlic naan, and I could not have been happier. My bill was a little over the offered gift card amount but they covered it all! Speaks volumes about this company!
I visited Spicebros today once again and was greeted by their super-cool manager Abby. I asked her if I should try their Cruncy burger again and she wanted me to give it another shot, and to my surprise, the burger was a juicy goodness! I've attached the pictures from my first experience to my other two - you be the judge. These pictures are a proof that this company cares about their customers more than anything. Will be visiting again very soon!
Disappointed with my first (and surely last) visit. I've been following Spicebros on Instagram for a while and had been wanting to try their crunchy/sloppy burger for a while. Finally had the chance to visit them yesterday and I wish I hadn't. It really seemed like this place would become my go-to restaurant but it was quite the opposite.
I ordered the crunchy burger, a piece of samosa and some potatoes. The samosa did not seem fresh, but it was still tasty so I wouldn't question that much. The potatoes were fine, I'd give them a 7/10, but the burger (which was the primary reason of my visit) was hideous. The bun was burnt from the top (picture attached), the piece of chicken inside was overcooked and slightly burnt from the outside as well and it was absolutely dry. I honestly gave up after forcing myself to eat 2/3rd of the burger and waiting for some sort of "taste." Unfortunately, I will not be visiting this place again. The only reason I haven't given this place a one star is because the people there, especially the cashier, were really kind and friendly so it wasn't a total...
Read moreService is incredibly sweet. I got an order of fish pakoras and a "Frankie roll" with garlic naan and butter chicken. The good: the pakoras were DELICIOUS, and it I'd only got that and the naan (by itself) this would've been a five-star review. Pakoras are perfectly crispy and both the coriander sauce and the spicy...mayo?... worked beautifully with them. An order is $9 but is big.
The Frankie roll is made with your choice of plain or garlic naan which is made right in front of you and it's beautiful. Unfortunately that naan is wasted on the Frankie roll. I chose chili chicken but she let me taste all of the curry, butter chicken and chili sauces and the butter was the only one that tasted remotely good, so what they do is take unseasoned chicken and then they spoon the sauce onto it. Then they pile toppings burrito-style, wrap it up and you take it back to your hotel room (in my case).
Sadly, the wrap was terrible. The chicken is nasty dry white meat and the overwhelming flavour is SALT. I couldn't eat close to half of it- I ended up throwing the fillings in the trash and eating the (very good) naan by itself.
I'm not angry; the pakoras and the naan were plenty filling and the damage was a mere $20 for a heavy order of food. But knowing as I do now, I'd just get the fish...
Read moreOne of the very few places in mtl that actually have good Indian food. The taste is immaculately delicious while they also keep it super healthy and fresh (it’s a surprise ik lol)! One of the best quality to price ratio I would say compared to in any other restaurant/chains food stores by so far imo. And trust me I am not an easy person to bag compliments from! Their employees are also very nice and cordial. You can feel the warmth in their behaviour that they serve along with the food lolz! They are really nice people at list in this specific branch on Saint Laurent! It’s the best/healthiest most fulfilling meal you can get after a night out. Even with enough Vegetarian, Vegan and Carnivore options with their “as you choose” menu. Their sitting area/atmosphere is nothing fancy as any other late night restaurants. Perhaps, mostly because people get takeaways during the days. So, it’s quite okay. Most importantly: THEY HAVE A GOOD VIBE to them and ITS NOT SKETCHY! Which is one of the most important things to consider at least for me at such hours after a night out! And Khushbu and Rubin are the best ppl you can ever get to serve you at 4am in the morning...
