I would like to complain about the service and the food from supper last night. I had a reservation for 4 at 4:30 pm and the table had the sign with my name on for my reservation. We sat at the table and the waitress took our food and drink order. For starters our waitress was done for the day and said she was transferring us to another waitress. A different waitress (I don't think the one we were switched to) dropped off our cold food. The new waitress never came to our table. So after approximately 15 minutes my husband finally went up to the bar and asked who is our waitress and why haven't they checked back in. I was quite upset being as this was my birthday supper and my food was cold. In fact all of the food at our table came out cold, I think it may have been sitting at the pass for quite some time. I haven't had this bad of experience for a birthday meal in a very long time. The manager blamed us as the customer of not getting up and going to complain at the bar sooner - being as you are a sit down restaurant we shouldn't have to get up and go to the bar to complain. The manager on duty only gave us 10% off some of the bill and not the whole thing. He blamed us as the customer for not complaining sooner. I have a disability and it is hard for me to move around a whole lot. This was very unacceptable that your manager was blaming us as the customers because the new waitress never came around to see how our food was at all or even to let us know who our waitress was. We didn't even know who our waitress was, which is unacceptable. This is not our fault as customers and your manager blamed us - which isn't very good at all for...
Read moreWent for supper with family yesterday. Management is absolutely awful. Ordered two glasses of wine and a beer and the beer was warm, skunky and flat draft beer. Let our server know that and asked for a wine to replace it. She came back and said that management refused to replace it. We asked our server to point us in the direction of the manager after paying the bill. We told him we were disappointed in management and explained what was wrong with the beer. He said that he’s had multiple people drinking the beer with no complaints and maybe we just didn’t enjoy the beer. Who drinks flat, warm skunky beer? He said “can I show you something?” And proceeded to pour himself a shot glass of beer, sip it and say “I don’t like this either, it’s not for me. Next time order a sample.” We told him this isn’t our first beer and it shouldn’t be skunky, warm and flat. He said he would replace the beer with ANOTHER beer but not wine. We did not expect this taken off our bill if we had a replacement. Why would we take another beer for it to, more than likely, taste exactly the same - when we know that we would enjoy the wine. What is the difference if you’re giving two beers as opposed to replacing one with wine? It just makes absolutely no sense. The way we were treated over a beer and basically called out to be a liar is crazy to me. We will never be back. The food is good and our server was amazing and very apologetic for the manager’s behaviour but there are OTHER places that will treat you better and with better beer....
Read moreMyself and group of friends come here weekly. Food is always excellent, and tonight was no different! Had the fish and chips and it was perfect, the fries were nice and crisp, perfect for adding a bit of malt vinegar and some extra salt.
What wasn't so great was the service. Usually its very good! Tonight, not so much. After our initial order was taken and our meals came out, it was like our server didn't want anything to do with us. Checked on us once about 5 minutes after meals came out. Menus were left on our table and not picked up until we were leaving (we did not ask for them to be left), plates weren't picked up until we were all done and had begun stacking them at the end of our table. We asked for more water, it never came. She took our pitcher and that was the end of it.
All of the servers and bartender were sitting down at the same time right beside us near the nook having supper and gossiping. Not once were we asked if we needed anything else until we were disappointed enough to pay for what we had been brought and leave.
I get that the staff need to eat during their shift, but not all of your front of house should be sitting at the same time. Even when our server did get up to welcome a new table, we weren't checked on aside from a glance when our drinks were empty. Disappointed, but we know it isn't usually like this. Hopefully it was just...
