I recently visited a fantastic Thai restaurant, and I’m still thinking about it! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The staff greeted me with big smiles, making me feel like I was part of the family. They were attentive without being overbearing, offering helpful suggestions when I was unsure about what to order. The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced between spicy, sweet, sour, and savory. The Pad Thai was a standout—rich, flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The green curry was another highlight—creamy, aromatic, and comforting, with fresh ingredients that really stood out. The portions were generous, and everything was served hot and fresh. What really made this place stand out, though, was the genuine hospitality. The staff was eager to ensure my experience was perfect, checking in just the right amount and offering additional condiments to customize my meal. It’s rare to find a place where the food and service complement each other so well. I’ll definitely be back—this restaurant has become my new go-to for Thai food! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

This Thai restaurant was such a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend the grilled chicken skewers, they are super tender and juicy, and the peanut sauce is absolutely delicious. The green curry with shrimp is loaded with fresh vegetables, rich in coconut flavor but not heavy at all. And you must try their homemade coconut ice cream, it even has fresh coconut meat inside. Creamy, refreshing, and honestly better than so many other places I have tried. The lettuce wraps were also a hit, with crisp, fresh lettuce paired with flavorful stir-fried chicken and vegetables. The seasoning is well-balanced, not too salty or sweet, perfect for anyone who prefers a lighter taste. The staff were friendly and attentive, the place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is spotless and open to view, and the chefs even wear hair covers and masks which is really rare to see. The restroom is also very clean. Whether it is for a date, a family dinner, or hanging out with friends, I will definitely be coming back.

So excited when I heard that the owners from Thai Smile (in Coombs) opened up a location in Nanaimo! Same amazing flavors and generous portions, however their website pricing is different than in-store. I ordered a beef red curry and chicken pad Thai, it showed $18 and $16 on their website but when I was paying, it was $20 and $18, respectively. The red curry was a bit too sweet, but otherwise I'm thrilled to have an authentic Thai restaurant in town again!

Service was standard. Food was mediocre. Atmosphere looked authentic but food wasn't very authentic. We ordered the pad see ew, tom yum soup, green curry and holy basil stir fry. The tom yum soup had baby tomatoes inside which I never had a tom yum soup with tomatoes elsewhere. Holy basil stir fry doesn't taste authentic at all. It's missing the "wok" taste. Green curry was abit water down and lots of bamboo shoot for filler not much substance inside. For the price of $18-20 per dish, I would expect a little bit more. The rice portion was also super small compared to the normal size you have in other restaurants.

Worst was at the end, they offered us homemade coconut ice cream but didn't tell us they will charge us $10 for an ice cream. In many Asian restaurants, they usually offer free desserts. Even if they don't, they should say "do you want any desserts?" And give us the menu to look at. The server just said how many coconut ice cream you want? The wording was very misleading.

I probably...
