A&W Canada — Restaurant in New Glasgow

my first and last time coming to this location. celiacs beware. i only like eating at a&w because they have really good lettuce wraps for us folks who can’t eat gluten. never again here, almost sent me to the hospital.

i first went through the drive thru and ordered a papa burger no cheese and a beyond papa no cheese lettuce wrapped. received the burgers and they both had cheese on them. went inside to have our burgers remade and to get a refund since it is an extra charge for cheese that we didn’t order. once they remade the burgers i noticed my burger was placed in the chute but didn’t have a lettuce wrap but a regular bun. once the lady on the counter noticed it had a bun when she went to start packing my order, she handed it back to the kitchen to have them lettuce wrap it. when a mistake like this happens where the kitchen accidentally puts a lettuce wrapped burger on a bun instead, they are supposed to check with the customer if it’s a preference or an allergy to know if it’s safe to just remove the bun or if they have to remake the whole burger. i’m so glad i went inside to have my burger remade because i watched them just remove the bun from the burger and put it on the lettuce wrap without asking me first. i had to go up to the counter and explain i need a whole new burger again since it touched the bun. i am celiac and i could be sent to the hospital if i had consumed it. the workers in the kitchen were pissed, but maybe make the burger right in the first place and follow company standards. the only positive experience was the young lady working the front counter who issued our refund and helped with the whole situation.

New review sept 1/25 came in for coffee and apple pie( best pies) I noticed it wasn’t busy and so the staff were cleaning the pace. So different from last night at Tim’s where it was not busy and they were doing nothing. Thanks to cleanliness

Had the all Canadian breakfast today and loved it took some home as there was too much to eat. Best hash brown ever. Server most friendly and it’s great to start my day with a nice flower and note on coffee lid. Thanks

I wish I could have option to give Zero Star

I recently had a really disappointing experience at this location. The drive-thru staff was incredibly rude, and it felt like the manager didn’t care at all about the service. I had complained before about their service, but nothing changed. I don’t think what the girl think of herself who was working at window around 9:45 Yesterday. At one point, the girl even called the kitchen staff to deliver my food, which was just unprofessional. I’ve had much better experiences at another location, so I won’t be returning here again. If you’re looking for good customer service, I recommend going to the other location instead.
