I visited this location with my husband, friend, and young daughter on a particularly busy night. Given how busy it was, I expected that we may not receive the level of service or attentiveness that we would on a less busy evening. With that being said, we were met with poor service and left feeling as though we were less than.
To begin, we asked for crayons for my young daughter to colour on the table with. It was understandable that it may have been an oversight to not leave any for a party with a young toddler given how busy the restaurant was, but after asking 3 separate times throughout the meal and not receiving it until the final ask, it left us feeling as though we were not as important as the other larger parties in the restaurant.
The waitress also brought over the wrong order which has happened to us in the past at other restaurant and isn't an issue at all. The issue lies in the fact that she was aggressively insistent it was our order despite the fact that she was only delivering the dish to our table and wasn't the one who took our order. They eventually confirmed it was the incorrect dish and gave us the main we ordered (with no apology as they seemed to be in a rush).
Although this is not a huge concern, it is to be noted that the waitress who brought our food put the hot meals and drinks directly in front of my young toddler. I have found that most establishments understand that hot dishes should be placed further away from young children as they may suddenly reach out to grab the dish. We were surprised that she did this but I assume it was due to being rushed to attend to other parties.
The service level and decorum of the staff that night was not on par to what we would expect at a Jack's location. We understand that it was a particularly busy night but we would've still appreciated being given the same level of service the other larger parties in the restaurant experienced.
The food was mediocre, the service was terrible, but it is to be noted they decorated the restaurant very festively for the holiday season. It was certainly a good effort in terms of decoration and atmosphere. The hostess was...
Read moreJennifer Jason Chris (dubs) Divya and Milad are all wonderful and amazing people. Thank you for having the most enjoyable and hospitable restaurant in Newmarket. (Could probably reduce the number of Canada flags and beach balls.. seems odd to have this cluttering such a beautiful restaurant) . Maybe 1 or 2 big Canada flags , but 15 little ones and some streamers and a bunch of beach balls seems odd. Service was amazing , the food was great. The flowers on the patio looked great. Do you have a working irrigation system or do your opening managers spend hours watering these every morning ? The clothing donation bin outside had bears and homeless people picking through it. Strange choice for a parking lot of a restaurant. I noticed a promotional flyer on the table talking about a close to home charity fund raiser. Pretty awesome that you guys are doing this. You should be proud of your community involvement. Even with all the construction on Yonge street and the zombies from across the street walking up and down your property, you still manage to make your location look and feel incredibly welcoming. I really love coming to jacks Newmarket , I am there almost 5 times and week and plan to continue this as long as possible. Lastly , the music was on point . Zeppelin, the Hip, pearl jam, sublime… such great music. Everywhere else you go , it’s the same old stuff . Taylor swift , Justin timberlake etc … refreshing to hear actual music instead of the usual top 40 dry background noise . Umbrellas were in perfect condition , no rips in any booth bench, windows were clean , AC was working well (even in this heat) we had an immediate greet at the door, the hostess suggested a feature menu item (it was wonderful). I really hope the people you report to take notice of the fantastic operation you are all fun if during such CRAZY times . Places like this are rare and people like you… even more so. Keep up...
Read more🌟 The Best Service I’ve Ever Experienced – Truly Unforgettable! 🌟 I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience demanded one. I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Shaun, and I can honestly say they redefined what great service means. From the moment we were seated, Shaun made us feel like we were the only table in the restaurant—warm, attentive, genuine, and effortlessly professional. He had that rare ability to anticipate needs without hovering, and every interaction felt thoughtful and sincere. You could tell they genuinely cared about our experience, not just because it’s their job, but because they love what they do—and it shows. They had expert knowledge of the menu and helped us choose dishes and pairings that turned our meal into something exceptional. When one of our party had dietary restrictions, Shaun navigated it with total ease and respect, offering alternatives and making sure everything was perfect. And it was. What stood out the most was their energy—a perfect balance of warmth, humor, and grace under pressure. Even when the restaurant got busy, they never missed a beat. It’s rare to meet someone who can elevate a night out into a memory you’ll talk about for weeks, but that’s exactly what happened. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you for an experience that was far beyond just “great service.” You made us feel special, and that’s a gift. To anyone dining here: ask for Shaun —trust me, you’ll be...
