Olde Village Free House — Restaurant in Newmarket

I booked this restaurant in advance and asked for a cozy table. When we arrived, they had placed the four of us at a high top booth. It was so uncomfortable because our feet were dangling. I asked the server if we could move tables and she was so sweet and put us at a table in the front right by the windows. Better seat yes, but it was freezing cold. I saw a few tables in the centre of the restaurant that would have been so much better, but they were already booked. The food was superb! Two people had the chicken curry and it was fabulous. Another had the chicen stir fry, which was also amazing. I was deciding between the beef dip and the spagetti and meatballs and ended up choosing the spagetti. Surprisingly, it was a little spicy and I do not enjoy spicy foods at all. The sauce was a little thin and the meatballs were just okay. I wish I would have ordered the beef dip. We had the blueberry lemon cheesecake for dessert (the owner's wife makes them herself) and they were lovely! So, all in all, it was a great place to dine......but the seating was a big factor because we were quite cold, so it made it hard to enjoy! We will definitely be coming back..........I will just make sure to reserve a specific table. The service was awesome. The ladies that took care of us were top...

First off let me start off by saying this place is a fun time. Our server Jordan is always so kind and on point with his orders even when it starts to get crazy busy. The only reason why I’m giving a 4 star is due to the karaoke guy..he is completely rude, won’t play songs that you request if he doesn’t like it on top of that he chooses who he wants up there based off of the song. When my friends and I went to perform he sarcastically said with an rude tone during our karaoke that this performance was “spectacular”. We put our name down for another song hours ago and when I went up to ask how much longer for our turn ..he said with a raised voice that he has a million people and than completely dismissed me and spoke to the person behind me. He also stated that our songs he won’t be playing in HIS bar. BTW the song was picture by Kid Rock. SUPER disappointed with the few times we’ve gone for karaoke, he is soooo rude to us.

If you guys need a better karaoke guy with great music, isn’t rude and doesn’t discriminate customers with their music choice. I know a guy! Feel free to send me...

I went for an early dinner this afternoon at The Olde Village Freehouse with my sister to celebrate her birthday.

I had never been there before. We were hoping to find a sunny patio on Main Street that would keep us warm on this fall day (October 17th). The patios on Main Street were all becoming shady.

Then we noticed the sign at The Olde Village Free House, saying they had a patio around back. We were pleasantly surprised to find a large patio basking in the full sun.

I have to say that the staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was FABULOUS!!! 💕

My sister and I both had the same thing (one of the daily specials). I believe it was called something like "roasted squash filled ravioli and sauted vegetables with chicken in a rose sauce with garlic bread". As I said, it was FABULOUS!!! It was so well prepared, so fresh, delicious and seasoned to perfection. I will definitely be returning again!!! And I have to remember for next summer...they have a nice good sized patio round back!
