Can tell why they have the award for best butter tarts! The butter tarts were so buttery and sweet. And when eating butter tarts, sweet and buttery is the way to go.The butter filling is so smooth and thick and just coats the tastebuds so nicely. The cool thing about this spot is try have a ton of different butter tart flavours and seasonally appropriate ones too! On top of that they have frozen meals available to just throw in the oven and also a slew of different treats that will satisfy everyone. Had these a while back and reviewing them now as I was going through my camera roll. Had them around the fall time. Service was awesome! Everyone is super friendly including their regular customers whom I got into quick convos with. Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!

A wonderful bakery centred on selling butter tarts in the heart of Main Street, Newmarket. The buttery smell of warm tarts hits you as soon as you open the door. The bakery is nicely laid out with a counter in the front displaying all of the goods. They don’t only sell tarts, they do also feature caramel apples, various squares and take-home goods. I got a half-dozen box of assorted tarts. They are a little pricy, however they are so worth it! One box of 6 tarts is $21 before tax. My personal favourites were the pecan and carrot cake tart. Highly recommend you stop on by and pick up some tarts from this lovely spot if you have the chance! pros: • Lovely interior and atmosphere • Great selection of tarts and other goods cons: • Pricey overall rating: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Check out my Instagram @justhungry for more reviews! I found this gem on Google when I was looking for food in the area and saw that they had award-winning butter tarts, so I couldn’t miss out! I arrived half an hour before closing and didn’t have to line up, but they only had four flavours left to chose from, which included the classics (plain, pecan & pecan raisin) as well as the flavour of the month (pina colada). These butter tarts were perfection - on the sweeter side as expected but their crunchy shells and gooey centres are highly addictive! They tasted just as good the next day. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to go back to try their other goodies. They sell out quickly, so make sure to go early or order on their website in advance!!

We took my father and our family to the Maid's cottage for the first time for Easter Monday Brunch. The atmosphere was similar to an old Mom and Pop diner. Some reviews I read, people don't like the vinyl tablecloth, however in my opinion it added to the nostalgia feel. The staff was super friendly, had a sense of humour and accommodating~ our waitress brought extra plates because my girls were going to split their order. We were seated and served in no time. The food was excellent. Ever time I go out anywhere for breakfast/brunch~ either in or outside the country, I always order the eggs benedict. I can honestly it is one of the best I ever tasted. The eggs were done to perfection, and so was the sauce. Everyone else in our party enjoyed their food. The price was very reasonable for the amount of food you get compared to other places, (I ended up paying around $60 for 3 adults and 2 teens) which led me to buying a box of butter tarts because of money I had left over! I highly recommend the Maid's cottage for breakfast/brunch. You won't be...

We were told about this place by friends who insisted this was a must try bakery for butter tarts. When we arrived we received a warm greeting. On the menu of Butter Tarts were true butter tarts, tarts with raisins, tarts with a slight heat (spicy), tarts with pumpkin spice and tarts with coconuts. All these varieties of butter tarts led us to choose 2 of each. The price per tart was a little high but we wanted to try more than 1 item. My opinion was the spicy was too runny and not spicy at all, the pumpkin was nice, as was the coconut but not a big fan of either. The Real Butter Tarts (plain) had a consistency that had a stable filling which did not run and was delicious. I will say the shell was a bit thick and filling to shell ratio was a little light on the filling. At over $3 per tart I would expect just a little more filling. Overall the experience was worth the trip. I recommend sticking to the real butter tart selection, but for the adventurous...

I love going to the Maids Cottage for brunch or breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning. The menu has great choices in many different cuisines, from Sheppard pie, freshly made bread and soups etc. I tried the Italian wedding soup and it's amazing! I don't like that kind of soup, and tasted it and was delightfully surprised how good it tasted. The sheppards pie is absolutely mouthwatering good, seasoned to perfection.

Make sure you try the tarts! Don't forget because you will be missing out of the best tarts in tart history, no joke. Lol, only place I have tarts since discovering The Maids Cottage. It will take you on a journey which will leave your pallet in an blissful wonderland of a sweet and smooth ride to deliciousness.

The server's are lovely also, very friendly and attentive to the customers, always a...
