Osmow's Shawarma — Restaurant in Newmarket

Yesterday I had placed my order through the online order section. I had placed my order around 5:30pm to be ready for 6:50-7:00. I got notification that it would be ready for 7:10. As I got the notification that my order was ready for pickup, I go in store to collect my order. Not only was my order not even started, and as it was super busy I do understand. I had finally got one of the girls attention and she asked for my name. She had then started making my order almost 5 minutes after. I had placed an order for the wrap combo, rice and chicken combo and also got the Dubai dessert. With the chicken and rice I had added extra 5oz chicken at the cost of 8.09 I believe. After she started to pack up my order she first added pop and not the ones I ordered and commented saying after I mention it wasn’t right they didn’t have any left. So instead of asking me just assume to put something I don’t like in my bag. As I watched the rest of my order I politely asked I didn’t see the extra 5oz chicken get added. She said it was in there. I get all the way home and realized she did not in fact add the 5oz chicken I had paid for.. which again I was not happy as I live 25 minutes away and with how busy it was I was not going back to try and get another employees attention. I had tried calling the store and it goes straight to voicemail. I would like to a refund for something I paid for, was told I got and I did not receive. I spent 40$ yesterday and was not happy with what I had gotten. I had tried contacting the store numerous times and absolutely no answer. So...

Osmo’s Shawarma — or the day I met my culinary nemesis.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens when someone cooks lamb using both a hair dryer and a grudge, wonder no more. The “side of lamb” I received looked like it had lost a fight in a gravel pit and then been punished for it. You can’t chew it, you can’t swallow it — you just sit there questioning your life choices while your jaw files for workers’ comp.

And the flavor (if that word can legally be used here)… imagine nothing. Not even bad nothing. Just existential nothingness on a plate. I seasoned it with my tears and still couldn’t taste anything.

Then came the “Greek salad,” which was clearly made by someone who once saw a photo of one from across the street. It’s the kind of salad that makes you rethink democracy. The dressing was a sugary crime scene. I think I felt my cavities filing police reports as I ate it.

In short: if this was a cooking competition, Osmo’s Shawarma would be escorted out by security halfway through round one. I wouldn’t serve this to my cat, and my cat has...

Wow, the quality has definitely improved and tasted a lot better than other locations in Scarborough.

Plenty seating and parking available, it's in a new plaza. The chicken shwarma was flavorful and made spicy to our liking. The chicken was slow cooked but finished off on the grill like other shwarma establishments.

The shwarma poutine was great also but could use more cheese otherwise it was fantastic.

My wife and I were surprised at how much chicken they give it was filling. Not sure if it is high quality chicken but it tasted good. I highly recommend this place and lets hope they get better with time.

Customer service was great and they were eager to take your order. They did get some of our toppings wrong but it was a small error that the taste made up for.
