My family and I were denied entrance in the restaurant because of my service dog. They said that pets were not allowed to which I said he wasn’t one and I had documentation to prove it. They responded “very sorry but no, leave”.
In Ontario, service dogs are protected under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC). Here are key aspects of the laws regarding service dogs in Ontario: Definition of Service Dog: A service dog is a dog that is specifically trained to assist an individual with a disability. The handler’s disability may be visible or invisible. Public Access Rights: Service dogs are allowed to accompany their handlers into any public space where the general public is allowed. This includes restaurants, hotels, stores, and public transit. Businesses and service providers cannot deny access to someone with a service dog. Identification: In some cases, the handler may be asked for documentation to confirm that the dog is a trained service animal. A letter from a medical professional or an identification card from a recognized service animal training organization can serve as proof. No Fees: Businesses or services cannot charge additional fees for service dogs, although the handler is responsible for any damage caused by the dog. Exemptions: There are limited exemptions, such as in areas where the animal poses a health or safety risk. Read moreMy mum and I were visiting NF and looking for a non-tourist local restaurant. This is about 10-15 minutes away from the hectic Clifton Hill hub. We saw this restaurant had a high rating and now we know why. It is a old-skool family business, serving standard Chinese-Canadian fare. A place you come hungry for a solid meal and feel satisfied from the food, and that you got a good deal. There is an extensive menu and very generous choices of lunch specials. You could easily make two meals from the portion served. We selected the egg roll/general tao/chicken balls/rice. General had a tiny kick of heat and chicken overall very tasty! The clean and casual interior included classic paper placemats with the zodiac It is a unassuming well established neighbourhood staple. You could tell by how many pick ups there were while we ate lunch. Also, how fondly the clients and manager/owner greeted each other! She is clearly a hard worker. They kindly let me charge my phone too. Lots of free parking. I would...
Read moreFantastic Team Dinner at Rens Restaurant!
Last night, our team had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful dinner at [Restaurant Name], and we were thoroughly impressed! The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a team outing.
The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who ensured our every need was met. But the real star of the show was the food - oh, the food! We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and each one was more delicious than the last. The flavors were rich and authentic, with generous portions that left us all feeling satisfied.
Standout dishes included the Kung Pao chicken, beef with broccoli, and the savory egg fried rice. We also appreciated the variety of options for our team members with dietary restrictions.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience at Rens Restaurants and would highly recommend it for any team looking for a great dinner spot. We can't wait to come back and try more of their...
