Timmy's Tanür — Restaurant in Niagara Falls

It's been a long time since I've had a really bad experience at a restaurant. Came from Toronto and saw this place had good reviews for a halal restaurant and decided to take my family. Unfortunately the reviews for this place are inflated with too much positively. Our experience was horrible.

We ordered chicken plate and salad, and our kids were hungry. They didn't tell us that they had a huge catering order us. Only when we inquired they told us. The service was very rude. Not helpful or friendly at all.

We needed the food to be mild. And we asked several times to make sure. What we got was really spicy chicken with spicy rice, that we could barely eat as adults. The kids couldn't eat it at all. Unfortunately we ended up having to pack up the food, and go to another place to get something for the kids.

All in all, a real bad experience. We thought we would support a small halal business and even overlooked the fact that it was a restaurant within a grocery store (the store part is actually very nice) but it's a shame the the restaurant does not uphold good standards from customer service to food quality. We even paid $7 for salad - it wasn't included in the meal. We had to pay for a salad separately and it ended up being such a pathetic bleak salad. Wilted, only iceberg lettuce, and such a small portion.

I am not one to do a review for a restaurant ever. But I felt compelled to do one for this place. They ruined our evening.

My warning is to anyone placing a large order to feed a large crowd from the website.

Ordering large quantities was not available on uber eats so I placed the order on the website and followed up with a phone call to confirm everything because calling there was a small issue with a language barrier.

When I specifically confirmed a delivery for 4:45pm to my company. As I was providing education to a large group.

My website order had a fee of $35 that’s cleared due to the size of my order. I did provide a tip for the delivery.

I waited outside for 1/2 hour snowing. No one came. I called to confirm again and see where my order was and they said “no one picked it up” and that I would have to pick it up.

I was providing education and could not leave and paid/tipped to have it delivered.

I ended up speaking to the owner who said I needed to follow up with uber eats as that is who was contracted out to fill this delivery.

I didn’t have any contact with uber having gone through the Timmy’s website.

The owner had a personal staff deliver the items an hour later. When I asked what compensation there was for receiving cold food, late. He said I would need to take that up with uber (who again I had no contact/order# with).

Please do not use the website to do orders and bear in mind there is zero interest in keeping customers satisfied and fed warm food timely.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Timmy's Tanur in Niagara Falls and was thoroughly impressed with their Halal food and inviting atmosphere. As a Muslim, it's always reassuring to find a restaurant that caters to my dietary restrictions, and Timmy's Tanur did not disappoint.
