it kinda breaks my heart to post such a horrible review of a place that I otherwise quite enjoy, but tonight the Leaf totally let me down. They were way too overwhelmed and pathetically unprepared and under-staffed. There was not a single seat in the house when I arrived even though there were almost 20 unused chairs and tables where the musicians had sprawled out all of their guitars and gear. I had to ask the music host band to request for the musicians to move their stuff and open up the extra chairs, because the staff didn't seem to give a damn about it. You're welcome by the way.
Then I sat and waited for someone to approach me and I'm certain I was invisible. After around 20 minutes I decided I'd better go to the bar to ask for a menu and serve myself. Again I stood there while the staff bustled around me without ever making any eye contact. I finally asserted myself loudly enough to ask for a menu to read and quickly scanned it for something to order. Then I held it up for at least 10 minutes until the bartender finally looked up at me and said "I see you there, I know you are waiting, I'm going to need a few more minutes", even though I stood there watching while other more rude people just barked out what they wanted and promptly receieved quicker attention. I remained standing where I was waiting patiently. A few minutes later when I guess she figured it was finally my turn, instead of apologizing or asking me what I wanted the bartender looked up at me and said "it's gonna be over an hour if you want food." I said "ok. well do you think I can I order a drink?"
If it weren't for the great music and the amazing people who gather there I would never go back again. I would suggest the band probably deserves a raise, but how if you aren't interested in selling anything?
I'm now on 2 hours of sitting here as I write this, and still hungry even though the room is now 60% emptied out - but still no waitress has come to my table to even ask me if I want another drink or to just collect my empty glass.
Seriously, be better u guys. I'm really...
Read moreWent to The Leaf to see a friend's band - The Groovy Tuesdays, great band. I'm not sure The Leaf was expecting a sell out crowd as they ran out of Corona, lemon, and celery salt for the person at our table drinking ceasars. A person from our table asked for a glass for her beer and it came to our table straight out of the dishwasher - lol - it was piping hot so I guess they were short on glasses as well. The service started out great but as it got busier our young server got quite forgetful - overall though she did a good job. What was great to see was the manager come out and help the two servers. It was a nice crowd and a fun night; I'd go back, The Leaf just needs...
Read moreGreat perogies, and their Music Jam nights provide excellent entertainment. Nice cozy setting, with VLT's. Pleasant staff with excellent service, the Jam is worth stopping by for. This is a great bar for live music, many local bands stopped by. They have a jam night. They also have a half price Thursday food specials menu. I have to say The leaf bar and grill, their menu is excellent. There is always something going on at the Leaf. The crowd is a blue collar working class crowd middle-aged to older folks. It is a warm atmosphere, great staff! Great food, don't miss out on an excellent neighborhood pub. See you...
