This Chick Makes Cakes — Restaurant in Nunavut

I will start out by saying I am not a dessert person. I rarely eat cake and if I do, I don't really enjoy it much. That being said for my wedding, my husband took the lead on the cake. After reading reviews we contacted This Chick Makes Cake and Kristy offered to make some samples for us to take home. There were about 4-5 cake options and then 4-5 icing options as well.... We went with cookies and cream flavored cake with vanilla icing and all I gotta say is... Wow. This is by far the best cake I have ever had and would recommend it to everyone. As a person who usually skips dessert I can honestly say that if I could have this cake for dessert every day, I would! We sent her a design that we wanted for the cake and she nailed it! The whole process of having it made and delivered for the wedding was smooth, and it was very affordable as well! I will most definitely be contacting them for any cakes I need for big events in the future! It's been almost a year since our wedding and my husband still talks about that cake! What can I say about This Chick Makes Cakes other than I am in awe! 2 years ago my sister in law had my baby shower cake made by Kristy. She gave her the invitation for inspiration and Kristy did not disappoint. The cake was adorable and delicious. When my son turned one, I knew I could turn to Kristy to create the most perfect Lumberjack themed cake. Cookies and cream with vanilla buttercream, it was a hit! When it was time to commission our wedding cake my husband and I had no question we had to see what Kristy could create. She worked hard creating sketches of our dream cake, making sure every detail was covered. She was incredibly professional making sure to send a proper contract for this important undertaking. Poor excuse of a business, unprofessional and dismissive.

I contacted the owner asking for a quote for a cake. Initially pleasant, and provided a quote. However, upon providing specifications and asking additional questions (mind you, there were a lot of questions - however, I’m not a cake person and do not order cakes. This was a once in a blue moon kind of thing). She didn’t respond for days. Upon following up, the response was “I no longer have that date available”. No alternative, no suggestions, very dismissive. Email came off as offended.

Sorry, if you aren’t able to understand different clients have different needs and will ask a million questions, you shouldn’t be in business. The website provided very basic info, so yes.
