Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Oakville

2 stars for the pizza. 4 stars for a young friendly staff no doubt trying their best. This store just relaunched on July 13 2021 after being closed for many months. Advertized special is a large pizza with 4 toppings. The large would not pass for a medium at a real pizzeria such as Fratelli (highly recommended) on Kerr and same can be said about the amount of ingredients - toppings were sparse to say the least and overwhelmed by a slightly spicy sauce in taste. It was a very thin crust for a regular pizza and only had cheese on the inner 2/3's of the pizza - lots of bare crust. I would rate Pappa John's close to the bottom in the pizza options list. With at least 4 top pizza places just a few blocks west on Kerr St it is almost impossible to think of why one would spend money here. I regret having to give a bad review but after each having one slice there was no appetite by any of us for a 2nd slice which speaks for itself. It was not inedible. It was just not very good. Avoid.

BTW - I see a lot of recent glowing reviews, which I assess are family and friends of the owners. I understand the enthusiasm to help but I suspect many of these break google's review policy - they are not arms...

We order from Papa John’s pretty regularly but the pizza has gone a bit downhill lately (my experiences are similar to the other ones posted here). The last time we ordered online directly from the Papa John’s app, our pizza was supposed to arrive within 40 minutes. After waiting for an hour with no communication from the store we tried to call but couldn’t get through. Expecting it to show up we waited another half an hour with still no call and no pizza. We finally contacted the store and said we would order from elsewhere they promised that the pizza would arrive in 10 minutes which it didn’t (although that is how long it would take to drive from the location) and that the driver’s car broke down. They wouldn’t allow us to cancel and suggested that we not tip the driver which we already had anyway. When the pizza arrived 2 hours later it was cold and had probably been sitting out and then passed from person to person. We have contacted Papa John’s but they don’t seem to care about our business and have lost a customer over this order :(.

I've ordered from this place quite often

but it seems to be going downhill.

My Uber Eats order today was extremely disappointing. I placed it at 9 PM for two medium pizzas, expecting four in total due to a 'buy one get one free' promotion.

The app quoted a 19-minute arrival, but the pizza didn't show up until 10 PM – an hour-long wait.

To make matters worse, when it finally arrived, I received only one tiny personal-sized cheese pizza and one medium pizza. Two entire pizzas were missing! I immediately told the driver, who told me to call the store. The store then directed me to Uber Eats.

Uber Eats claimed I wasn't 'eligible' for the two free pizzas, despite their clear advertisement, which feels like false advertising. This isn't just about the $40 I spent; it's about the principle and the huge inconvenience. With eight people waiting to eat on a Saturday night, after an hour-long wait, having to reorder and wait another hour for food is completely unacceptable.

Both the store manager and Uber Eats showed a shocking lack of care.
