Unfortunately, I have given this restaurant a few too many chances. I have eaten here a handful of times over the last 2 years. Each time, it seems that my experience gets worse and worse. I joined my family in a birthday celebration here on Friday October 13- First of all they gave us too small of table to accommodate our party (there was about 20 of us). We had to ask for them to add chairs to our table- when we asked the waitress asked if we could just squeeze together on the bench portion of our seating area. I guess comfort is not one of their priorities for their customers along with honesty. At the end of the meal everyone ordered their soft serve ice cream - btw this is on the all you can eat menu in VERY SMALL FONT - it does not indicate what flavours. After ordering a round of Green Tea ice cream, we asked to order more for those who were not aware they offered it. They then brought the manager, and they had explained to us that they were out of the green tea ice cream. Unlucky for the manager, some of our family members understood Cantonese (the language they spoke), and overheard the manager tell the server that "Green Tea ice cream is not on the menu for All you Can Eat". We were buzzing with the information, but decided not to make any complaints on it since we were near the end of our meal anyway. Later on we see guests around us being served the Green Tea ice cream. We confronted the waitress and she said "it's $4 for the green tea ice cream". When it boils down to it, it's just bad customer service because, if you made a mistake and had just explained it to us, we would had understood. We weren't going to start a problem with a restaurant trying to make money at the end of the day. The problem is that they had the nerve to lie to us, when we were a large party bringing them business. On top of this, they wanted to charge us a refill fee on soft drinks, I think I asked for a refill on my water more than 5 times during this sitting, they cut us off on ordering food (we were only here for 1 hour), when asked when a plate was being served, they actually answered us with "I don't know, maybe it's still coming", they didn't bring out the food we actually ordered, their hand rolls were thick with hard left over rice, with NO salmon or meat filings in them, and when they were bringing our dishes, they expected US to move the items on the table and place the dishes ourselves. Overall, time and time again it is a major disappointment here. The main issue is the customer service. If you're ok with paying for bad customer service and mediocre food, then this is the place to be. If not, I highly suggest finding...
Read moreWent last night with my family. This spot came highly recommended to my mom by her co workers in oakville. We were really looking forward to it. My mom called ahead of time and asked if we could mix a la carte and all you can eat as my cousin and I wanted to do all you can eat but my parents don’t eat much so they wanted to do a la carte. The person my mom spoke to told her that would be fine. Immediately we go in, and the gentleman at the front asked us if we were doing a la carte or all you can eat. we told him 2 a la carte and 2 all you can eat. we were then told we couldn’t do that, it was either all a la carte or all all you can eat. this completely contradicted what my mom was told on the phone, but we decided to just do a la carte for all of us. We sat down and about 5 minutes later the same guy from the front came back and said “we’re really busy so you have until 6:45.” He wrote it down on the paper that was covering the table and walked away. Right then and there, we knew we made a mistake coming here. In my whole life, I have never been given a time limit at a restaurant. He had such an attitude saying it then just walked away before anyone could get a word in. We all ordered our food and asked for it all to come out at the same time to which the waitress responded that was no problem. My sushi and soup came out at the same time, followed by the spring rolls and the soup my mom ordered. They didn’t even bother asking who ordered what. They just began putting things down infront of whoever, which I thought was really odd. My moms soup was actually cold to touch so we had to send it back and get a new one. I finished all my soup and sushi and my families dinner hadn’t even arrived to the table yet. It took 20 minutes AFTER i ate for them to get their food. We started to think they forgot, that’s how long it took. Not one person apologized for the wait or came over to reassure us the food would be there soon. There was no paper towel in the washroom either and the hand dryer was broken. Their solution? a hand towel for ALL customers to use to dry their hands. That’s disgusting. I used my own clothes instead. It was literally a dirty wet hand towel used by multiple people sitting between the sinks. How can anyone think that’s okay? We didn’t bother complaining to a manger as it was pretty clear that the manager instructed the staff to run the place as they were, so there was really no point. Although the food was delicious, this place lacks heavily in customer service. If you want to try the food, i’d recommend...
Read moreI don’t even know where to begin. Went with my family to dinner hoping to enjoy some sushi. It was our first time at this location, as we’ve been to the other location on Dundas and enjoyed ourselves there.
To start, when we got there the hostess asked if we made a reservation. Before we could even answer the manager interrupted her and took over. As soon as we sat down, we started to order since we were really hungry. We went to order some salmon sashimi and because it was 6 of us we wanted to order a large amount along with maki rolls and fried stuff. We were unable to order more than 6 pieces as they have a policy for 1 piece per person per order. The manager explained that in the past people order a large amount and don’t finish it. In our experience if people waste food they charge you extra.
That was just the beginning. The wait times were unbelievably long for an all you can eat restaurant. Whenever we asked the manager what was taking so long, he said it was busy. But we looked around and saw the big tables empty, and it wasn’t a full house. It looked like they were prioritizing the takeout orders over the people in the restaurant. When we started getting our food, there were lots of items missing, wrong items were getting sent to our table, and some of the fried foods were coming out cold. We had to ask our server everytime we put an order to check on it because we waited so long. Not to mention everytime we got our sashimi orders, the pieces kept on getting smaller and smaller.
We ended up spending over 2 hours, when we usually spend just over an hour whenever we go to any AYCE sushi place. When my dad talked to the manager before we left and explained everything, he told my dad “you shouldn’t come on the weekend”. WHAT?!?
Overall, the manager was very rude, and unprofessional. He shouldn’t be anywhere near the restaurant industry.
Shoutout to our server who tried her best to help make our experience better. However, we will not return to a very poorly run and...
