Wo Thai — Restaurant in Oakville

ZERO STARS!!! BEWARE!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The customer service here is absolutely disgusting. We called in an order for pineapple shrimp fried rice, Thai beef basil, and sweet and sour chicken balls on August 24, 2025. When I came to pick it up, the older lady (whom i've never seen there before) at the front tried to tell me I ordered sweet and sour chicken (not chicken balls). I corrected her and said no, I ordered chicken balls, which I have never once ordered sweet and sour chicken from here. She insisted she was right and claimed she had a “recording” of my order. She then wasted my time for 5 minutes scrolling through a tablet, finally showing me a video of her staff punching something into the POS system. You couldn’t hear ANY voices. That is not proof of anything. Yet she continued to argue with me, saying she’s “not deaf” and she heard me confirm it. This was an absolute blatant LIE!

Instead of fixing the issue (which was simple — remove the wrong dish and replace it with chicken balls), she argued nonstop and refused to help. My partner even came in and said fine, we’ll just take the other two dishes and leave the chicken, and she STILL argued instead of just completing the order. She literally said she threw out all the chicken balls for the day anyway. The whole attitude was despicable. She kept lying the entire time and was literally shouting!!

I told her straight up her customer service sucks and that she’d rather lose the entire sale than actually work with a customer and solve a simple problem. On my way out, she was STILL arguing with me, and I had to yell at her to shut up because it was ridiculous behavior. What a disgusting human being!

We’ve ordered here a couple times before with no issues, but this experience showed me exactly who runs this place. Rude, argumentative, no accountability, no solutions. Absolutely disgusting. I will never spend another dollar here again.

Future customers: go read the Yelp reviews. The same complaints come up again and again — rude service, yelling, no accountability, and these pointless “recordings” that prove nothing. This isn’t just me, it’s a pattern.

I’m not going back and forth with you anymore because you refuse to take accountability for your actions or the way you treat customers. I’ll own telling you to “shut up” — and I stand by it — because you were STILL yelling at me after I was already on my way out! That is not professional behavior.

I can't speak to the rest of the menu, but the pad thai is genuinely some of the worst food I have ever eaten, let alone the worst pad thai. Overwhelmingly sweet, with not even a hint of chilis or spiciness. I've never had to -add- salt to take out thai food before. The flavour was totally unbalanced, and the sauce was thick and gloopy. It was a very generous portion and the price was much cheaper than elsewhere, but it was incredibly awful and really ruined my lunch.

Possible some of the older reviews no longer apply. We’ve ordered from Wo Thai once a month for the past several months. Food is great, hot & fresh, and has always come quickly. The green curry and pad Thai (how I generally judge Thai food) are both top notch. And having such a varied menu is great. I wouldn’t expect a restaurant specializing in two different styles of food would be great with either, let alone both, but these guys are.
