A.D Sushi — Restaurant in Ontario

I recently visited with my family of four, including two young children (2 and 4 years old). Unfortunately, they didn't have a chair for my toddler, and the kids' menu options were limited - basically, no chicken nuggets. Most restaurants cater to kids, but this one seemed to fall short.

We paid $9.99 for each child's meal, which consisted of just a few fries. The price jumps to $17.99 for kids 5 and up, which seems steep considering kids' small appetites.

On the positive side, the service was excellent, and the food was delicious. However, when we asked to take our leftover rolls home (aware of the extra charge), the server brought the container and the bill without us asking for it. We felt rushed and uncomfortable, as if they were trying to get rid of us.

To make matters worse, they took away the iPad we used to order, so we couldn't even consider getting more dessert. Our total bill was over $100, which felt excessive considering the rushed service.

I had ordered here twice and came back today and brought friends as I was raving about the food. It was 3:10pm and the place was empty. We asked if they would honor the lunch special price and they said no. I understood...I then asked for a menu and was given one...as we sat down the server said that we can only seat ourselves in the dining room if we did the all you can eat which now after 3pm was $36 each. We were told that we would have to leave after we ordered from the menu. Keep in mind the dining room was completely empty and we were the only 3 people in there. We were given no other options...In short unless you do the all you can eat you are not welcome to sit in their dining room. I was completely embarrassed and we left. Beware of this place....they are not welcoming and guard their dining room like it is a buried treasure. Needless to say we walked out will...

My goodness! I've been waiting so long to finally check this place out and it did not disappoint. Greeted right away and seated in a well appointed and cozy atmosphere with beautiful artwork on the walls. With 5 chefs behind the counter, food was presented beautifully, quickly and efficiently. Service staff always close by to clear and top up waters. Food! Glorious food! Not only was it so fresh as other have already commented but it added to the gorgeous texture of the fish. Not slimy or chewy or bland. Great selection of menu items. The wok items were prepared with care and the sauces that accompanied were of great quality. Tempura shrimps were not just all batter. 10/10. Definitely recommend!! Will definitely be coming back with friends next time. Bravo AD Sushi! and thank you for choosing Orillia.
